How the answers fit the theme
The words cover several kinds of space hardware rather than six interchangeable vehicle names. A lander or rover is associated with a celestial surface; an orbiter operates in orbit, and a probe investigates or gathers information. A satellite and a module extend the group to other space hardware and spacecraft sections. SPACECRAFT names the broader category.

Strands is a word-search-style puzzle. The New York Times instruction, quoted in Parade’s guide, is: “Find theme words to fill the board.” The spangram describes the theme and touches two opposite sides of the grid; finding non-theme words can earn hints. [Parade]
