Why these words fit the theme
Each answer completes a “___ City” phrase: Emerald City, Eternal City, Golden City, Magic City, Motor City, Music City and Windy City. The spangram, NICKNAME, names the connection between them.
The associated cities are Seattle, Rome, San Francisco, Miami, Detroit, Nashville and Chicago, respectively. “Golden City” is the less immediately recognizable association in this set; the puzzle uses it for San Francisco.
How Strands works
Strands is a daily themed word search played on a six-by-eight letter grid. Words can bend in any direction. Finding three unrelated words unlocks a hint that highlights a theme word, while the spangram describes the theme and reaches two opposite sides of the board.
