How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search game. The spangram captures the theme and connects opposite sides of the board. Finding three valid words of at least four letters that are not theme answers earns a hint that highlights one unsolved theme word. An independent current guide describes the board as 6 by 8; the hint and spangram rules are also described in the dated answer guides. TechRadar’s November 1 guide, Try Hard Guides, and Play Strands NYT provide those explanations.
For a replay, an independent guide says a NYT Games subscription provides access to past Strands puzzles. Its archive guide is not an official New York Times source.
