How the Strands hints work

Strands is a themed word-search game. Letters can connect in any direction, but a letter cannot be reused or crossed. The spangram describes the theme and touches opposite sides of the board. According to Try Hard Guides’ explanation of the game, finding three non-theme words unlocks a hint. The puzzle page is at The New York Times Strands.

The puzzle is dated April 3, 2026; “today” can refer to a different puzzle depending on where you are, because TechRadar notes that a new daily puzzle appears at midnight in each time zone.
