How to use Strands hints
Strands is a word-search-style puzzle played on a six-by-eight letter grid. Words can run vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, and can change direction. The goal is to find the theme words and the spangram, which describes the theme and connects two sides of the board.
If you want an in-game hint rather than a direct answer, find three valid words that are not theme answers, each at least four letters long. The game then highlights one theme word.
Why this puzzle is best identified by date
Some dated guides identify the August 30 puzzle as #180, while an Xfire archive entry assigns it #303. Because the numbering conflicts, the date and matching answer set are the clearest way to identify this puzzle.
