For the NYT Strands puzzle dated Thursday, August 29, 2024 (game #179), the theme is “Wake up and …” The answers are coffee drinks and coffee-order descriptions. Hints are below in increasing spoiler order, followed by the complete solution.
Start with a hint
The theme clue is “Wake up and …” If you want a nudge without seeing the answers, the spangram hints point to a coffee choice or a morning pick-me-up: TechRadar’s is “Joe’s choice?”; Forbes’ is “A pick-me-up to start your day with.”
For a lighter reveal, Forbes gives the first two letters of the six theme answers: ES, MO, LA, CO, BL, CA, and IC. Those prompts identify seven answers, including the spangram.
Progressive hints
In Strands, finding three valid non-theme words of at least four letters unlocks an in-game hint that highlights a theme word. TechRadar lists these words to try, in order: MORE, ROACH, LOAD, NICE, CURED, BLEED. Use them if you want the game to reveal theme words before you look at the full list.

What is the spangram?
The spangram is COFFEEORDER (also written “COFFEE ORDER” in Forbes). TechRadar places it across row five, beginning at the left edge and ending at the right edge.
