How the NYT Strands board works

  1. Drag across adjacent letters to form a word, or tap each letter in sequence.
  2. When entering a word by tapping, double-tap the final letter to submit it.
  3. Theme words become highlighted in blue when found.
  4. Find three words that are not part of the theme to earn a hint; the hint reveals letters from one theme word.
  5. The spangram names the puzzle’s theme, touches two opposite sides of the board, and can consist of two words.
