Need help with the March 4, 2026 NYT Pips puzzle? Start with the clue-only nudges below, then reveal each difficulty’s reported tile placements when you’re ready. The answers are transcribed from Mashable’s guide, syndicated by Yahoo Tech; the original NYT board was not independently verified.
How to use these Pips hints
Pips is a single-player game with a domino-like twist: tiles are placed vertically or horizontally, connect on the board, and must meet the rules of the regions they occupy. The guide describes the clue types this way:
- Equal: every cell in the region must have the stated pip total.
- Number: the cells in the region must add up to the stated total.
- Greater Than / Less Than: the region’s pip total must be strictly above or below the stated threshold.
Each difficulty has a clue to try before its answer list. Tile pairs and orientations below follow the guide’s notation. The guide reports five Easy regions, seven Medium regions, and four Hard regions.
Easy Pips hints and answers
Hint: Work through five regions, beginning with an Equal clue for 5 and ending with a Greater Than clue for 5.
