Clue notes
The short Across fills are MIN for “___ the gap!” and STE for “Watch your ___!” They are three-letter answers in the published key, so they should not be expanded.

The New York Times says the Mini is available through the Games app, at nytimes.com/crosswords, and in the News app. Its Mini help page says weekday and Saturday puzzles appear at 10 p.m. Eastern Time the evening before their publish date; Sunday puzzles appear at 6 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday.
