A spelling discrepancy in the horse-racing group
Parade reports the word as EXACT. The guides from AOL, summarizing Mashable, and Mashable label the category “Best in Horse Racing” and give EXACTA instead. The available reports do not resolve the difference, so the table follows Parade’s spelling rather than presenting the accounts as unanimous.

How the game works
Coverage describes a 16-word board where the goal is to sort the words into four groups of four that share a connection. Parade reproduces the NYT site instruction as: “group sports terms that share a common thread.” The Mashable-sourced guide says players can make up to four mistakes and shuffle the board; it also describes the color sequence as yellow, green, blue, then purple by increasing difficulty. These are descriptions in published coverage; an official NYT game page was not available among the sources for this puzzle.
