What makes this board tricky
Several words invite more than one association. DRAW, PULL, PASS, and CROSS might suggest a card-game grouping, but the intended sets split them across INHALATION and ___WORD. Check a tempting group against the rest of the board before submitting it; Connections has one intended solution even when individual words seem to fit several ideas.
How Connections works and where to replay
The New York Times Help Center explains that Connections gives players 16 words to sort into four groups of four. Yellow is the easiest category and purple the trickiest; editors curate the words and categories using the Oxford Dictionary. The puzzle releases at midnight in each player’s timezone, so the local calendar date can differ, but this board is identified as Sunday, July 20, 2025, game #770.
