How the connections work
- New Year: The set points to New Year’s celebrations. CHAMPAGNE FLUTE combines two words shown separately in the puzzle’s displayed grid.
- Disappearance places: The Bermuda Triangle, a black hole, couch cushions and a dryer are all places where things can seemingly vanish. COUCH CUSHIONS is a combined phrase in the solution.
- Philadelphia: BROTHERLY LOVE refers to the city’s nickname; CHEESESTEAK, LIBERTY BELL and ROCKY are familiar Philadelphia associations.
- Water beginnings: BAY, CHANNEL, SEA and SOUND begin BAY LEAF, CHANNEL SURF, SEA BASS and SOUND BARRIER.
How Connections works
TechRadar describes Connections as a game in which players group four items that share a connection. It says the groups use color-coded difficulty levels, and players can make up to four mistakes.
