- Yellow: Standoffish.
- Green: Vital household services.
- Blue: Electrical quantities.
- Purple: Words or names that can come before “joint.”
How to approach the board
Connections asks you to sort 16 words into four groups of four that share a property. First note plausible groupings, then look for words that could fit more than one theme. Removing clearer groups can make a less obvious wordplay category easier to see.

- Purple — ___ JOINT: DOVETAIL, HIP, PIZZA, SPIKE LEE. The words form “dovetail joint,” “hip joint,” “pizza joint,” and “Spike Lee joint.”
