Looking for the April 30 Connections answers? This is the 2024 edition, puzzle #324—not the separate April 30, 2026 puzzle, which was #1054. Try the hints below before opening the answer key.

Hints for Connections #324

Use these nudges in order, stopping whenever you have enough to solve a group. They are independently phrased clues, not the New York Times’ original hints.

  1. Think of sauces commonly served with food.
  2. Look for verbs that can mean questioning someone.
  3. Consider different meanings of one word: food, animals, merchandise, and family origin.
  4. The last group depends on different meanings of “stock.”

Answers for April 30, 2024

The four groups in Connections #324 are:

  • Dipping sauces: AIOLI, BARBECUE, MARINARA, RANCH.
  • Interrogate: EXAMINE, GRILL, PROBE, QUESTION.
  • Transaction record: BILL, INVOICE, RECEIPT, STATEMENT.
  • What “stock” might mean: ANCESTRY, BROTH, CATTLE, MERCHANDISE.

Why the “stock” group is tricky

The final category puts several meanings of “stock” together: family origin, broth, cattle, and goods held for sale. The words do not all fit one narrow definition; the connection is that each can represent a meaning of “stock.”

How Connections works

Connections presents 16 words and asks players to sort them into four groups of four that share a common thread. The guide to this puzzle says players can make up to four mistakes, and the daily puzzle resets at midnight local time. Try Hard Guides’ April 30, 2024 guide
