PerthNow’s 29 December 2025 year-end feature highlighted nine notable restaurant, bar and hospitality openings around Perth and nearby Western Australia. Its list is a selected roundup, not a complete count or measured ranking. The venues range from a beachside dining room and a suburban pub to a family arcade restaurant and a regional coastal club.

PerthNow’s notable 2025 openings

The descriptions below reflect how PerthNow characterized the venues in its year-end feature. Opening details, menus and seasonal offerings can change; check with each venue before visiting.

Coastal dining and drinks

  • Ilma Beach House — Naturaliste. PerthNow describes a coastal setting with ocean views and Mediterranean-inspired plates. It also reports that Jade Jurewicz, Deputy Editor of STM, called the views “the best” of any restaurant in Western Australia; that is an attributed opinion, not an independently verified ranking. PerthNow’s feature.
  • Sorrento Beach Club — Hillarys. A summer pop-up oriented around sunset drinks and a seaside atmosphere, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu, according to PerthNow. The pop-up framing matters: the feature does not establish its current seasonal availability.
  • Bert’s — City Beach. PerthNow presents Bert’s as an all-day coastal diner, with shareable snacks and food spanning morning to evening. Broadsheet also includes it among the year’s beachy all-day diners.
  • Tigerfish at Cottesloe Beach Hotel — Cottesloe. PerthNow associates the venue with Southeast Asian share plates in a beachfront setting. Its report that Tigerfish was booked out for weeks describes the period covered by that article, not present-day availability.
  • Yanchep Beach Club — Yanchep. A relaxed beachside destination for dining and drinks with a view. PerthNow gives its opening date as 12 December 2025.

City, suburban and family-friendly venues

  • Light Years — Perth CBD. PerthNow highlights colourful interiors and a punchy Asian-fusion menu. Broadsheet independently describes it as a modern Asian diner.
  • Chuck E. Cheese — Joondalup. PerthNow reports that the US chain opened its first Australian store in Joondalup. The concept combines pizza and arcade games, aimed at families as well as adults drawn to the nostalgia.
  • The White Horse Tavern — Baldivis. A local pub opening characterized by classic pub meals and family-friendly spaces.
  • Little Creatures — Elizabeth Quay. PerthNow’s account of the menu mentions Western Australian produce, seafood and share plates, alongside reworked dishes associated with the Fremantle venue’s classics.

How broad was Perth’s 2025 opening scene?

PerthNow’s nine highlighted venues are only one editorial selection. Broadsheet says its own 2025 coverage included 32 new openings across cafes and casual diners, bakeries, restaurants and bars. That figure is Broadsheet’s coverage count, not a census of every opening in Perth or Western Australia. Broadsheet’s 2025 roundup.

Its examples show a wider spread of places and formats than a restaurant-and-bar shortlist alone: Banh Mi & Chè in Carlisle, Be Free in East Perth, Cafe Yoka in Floreat, The Cool Room in Fremantle, Corner 33 in South Perth, Earl’s in Mount Hawthorn, Gelato Messina in Victoria Park, Lovers Deli and Canteen in White Gum Valley, Omusubi Natchan at various markets, North 54 in Leederville, Side Piece Deli in Swanbourne and Wang Xiang Noodle in Willetton. The roundup also names bakeries including Angelwood Pies, Pinos and Smidge Bakery.

Among its restaurant and bar examples are Avalon, Charim, Ginza Nana Alley, Jujube Dining, Kalye Filipino Streats, Lulu’s Cantina, Mame, Magnolia BBQ, Ronnies, Ten and Sen, Bar Ole, Deadbeat, The Leadlight, Lil’s Rooftop and Mons O’Shea. Together, the two publications’ coverage suggests variety across cuisine, setting and occasion; it does not establish a definitive ranking by popularity, quality or scale.

Which Crown Perth venues were planned for 2026?

Three names in Crown Perth’s November 2025 announcement belong to its plans for the following year, not to the 2025 openings above. Crown said its Urban Food District was expected to open in early 2026 and named Side Piece Pizza, Tekka Bar and Burgers by ES. The release described New York-style pizza, Japanese hand rolls, and a gourmet burger and egg-sandwich concept, respectively. Those details reflect the announcement dated 26 November 2025; they do not establish whether or when the venues subsequently opened. Crown Perth’s announcement.

What to check before making a visit

  • Confirm the venue is currently operating and check its current hours and menu directly.
  • For Sorrento Beach Club, check whether the seasonal pop-up is available.
  • Check current booking availability rather than relying on reports of past demand.
  • For Crown’s Urban Food District venues, look for a current Crown announcement before treating the 2025 plans as confirmed openings.
