What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If you’re in Canada and can’t activate Crave, first identify what the screen is asking for: an email verification code, a code displayed on your TV, or an activation link from your TV, internet or mobile provider. Each uses a different route. For a provider-billed subscription, restart activation through that provider rather than repeatedly requesting codes or signing in as a direct Crave subscriber.
Identify which Crave code or activation step is missing
| What you see | What it likely means | Where to continue |
|---|---|---|
| “Check your email” or “Enter verification code” | Email verification for a Crave/Bell Media account | Look in the inbox used for the provider or account sign-in. |
| A short code displayed on the TV or another device | Device pairing | Follow the QR-code or browser instructions shown on the device. |
| An email with an “Activate now” button | Provider subscription activation | Open the provider’s email and follow its activation flow. |
| A provider login screen | Crave is checking the provider’s subscription entitlement | Sign in with the credentials for the provider account that has Crave. |
| No code field or email prompt | The activation may be link-based, or you may have selected the wrong sign-in route | Start again from the provider portal or the provider option in Crave. |
These steps are not interchangeable. A TV pairing code does not arrive by email, and a provider activation email is not the same as an email verification code.
Restart activation using the right account
- Close the Crave app or browser tab where activation is stuck.
- On a phone or computer, open Crave’s sign-in flow, or start from your provider’s Crave activation page.
- Choose the route that matches how you get Crave. Look for wording such as “Sign in Through my TV Provider” or “Activate Subscription Through Provider.” If you pay Crave directly, use the direct Crave sign-in route instead.
- Select the correct provider and sign in with the credentials for the account that includes Crave.
- Use the email address linked to that provider or to the Bell Media account you are connecting. If asked to verify by email, request one fresh code and wait several minutes.
- Use the newest message’s code promptly. Avoid requesting several codes in succession; an earlier code may no longer work after a newer one is issued.
- Finish activation on the phone or computer, then return to the TV or other device and sign in.
Menu names can vary by device, provider and interface version. Rogers’ documented example is to open Crave, choose “Sign in,” select “Sign in Through my TV Provider,” select Rogers or Rogers/Shaw, enter provider credentials, then create or connect a Bell Media account and enter the one-time code emailed during first-time linking. Rogers’ Crave instructions describe this flow.
If the email verification code never arrives
Check every likely inbox and address
- Search for “Crave,” “Bell Media,” your provider’s name, “verification,” “activation” and “one-time code.”
- Check spam, junk, promotions, social, “other” and any quarantine folder.
- Confirm the email address belongs to the provider account holder. It may differ from the address you normally use for Crave or the one entered on the TV.
- Check whether an older email, forwarding address or Apple Hide My Email address is being used, and confirm where its messages are routed.
- Look for mailbox rules, blocked senders, corporate filtering, parental controls or a full mailbox that could prevent delivery.
Crave’s code validity period and a universal delivery time are not established in the cited provider instructions, so don’t rely on a specific expiry countdown. Use the newest code promptly, and never give a one-time code to anyone who contacts you claiming to be support.

Confirm that you chose the matching sign-in route
If your subscription comes through a TV, internet or mobile provider, return to the provider sign-in or activation option. Ordinary Crave sign-in can lead you to a direct account that does not have the provider entitlement. Conversely, if you pay Crave directly, provider sign-in is the wrong route. Avoid creating multiple new Crave accounts while testing; a second account can make the subscription appear to be missing.
If the code is displayed on your TV
- Leave the code visible on the TV and use a phone or computer to open the activation page reached through the TV’s QR code or on-screen instructions.
- Sign in with the Crave/Bell Media account you intend to use on the TV, then enter the displayed code exactly as shown.
- If the code is rejected, back out of the activation screen on the TV and reopen it to generate a new code. Repeat the browser steps with the new display.
- Check that the phone or computer and TV are not signed in to different accounts.
- If the page will not load or pairing stays stuck, update the Crave app, force-close and reopen it, then restart the TV or streaming device and try again.
Code length varies by device flow. SaskTel documents a five-digit code displayed in its Crave PlayStation instructions; that example does not establish the format for every TV, console or streaming device. See SaskTel’s device instructions.

Follow the activation route for your provider
Bell-billed subscriptions
- Find the activation email sent after the Bell purchase and select “Activate now.”
- Sign in to MyBell when prompted.
- If asked whether you already have a Crave account, use the email associated with that account so you link the subscription to the right identity.
- Complete the Crave/Bell Media account-linking steps, then sign in to Crave with the linked account.
Bell’s activation instructions say subscriptions take effect after the order is completed but must still be activated before viewing. If Bell cannot find the purchase or the activation email, ask Bell to check the order, contact email and eligibility. If Bell confirms the subscription is active but Crave will not link, contact Crave about the account connection. Do not buy another subscription until you confirm whether the original entitlement exists.
Rogers and Rogers/Shaw subscriptions
Choose the Rogers provider sign-in option in Crave, using MyRogers or MyRogers (Shaw) credentials as applicable. Complete the Bell Media account creation or linking step and enter the emailed verification code. Check the email tied to the provider account, which may not be the address you use for a separate Crave account. If the Rogers account does not show an active Crave subscription, contact Rogers to verify the entitlement before troubleshooting the code further. Rogers lists its current sign-in and linking steps.

SaskTel and other participating providers
Provider flows differ. Some begin in a customer portal or provider email; others require provider credentials followed by device pairing. Check your provider’s Crave instructions and verify that Crave is listed as active in the provider account. If the provider cannot confirm the entitlement, the provider must resolve that subscription or provisioning issue before Crave can reliably grant access.
If Crave says there is no active subscription
- Wrong account: The subscription may be attached to the primary account holder’s email or a different Bell Media account. Check the provider portal for the account and email associated with Crave.
- Wrong billing route: Provider-billed customers need the provider sign-in route; direct Crave subscribers need direct sign-in. If you bought through another platform, check the original billing platform’s account and instructions rather than assuming it is a direct Crave subscription.
- Order or offer not activated: A pending order, bundle entitlement or promotional offer may still need provider activation. Verify that the offer is attached to the qualifying account and that any required activation was completed.
- Entitlement not synchronized: If the provider confirms Crave is active and the correct account is linked, but Crave still shows no subscription, contact Crave support with the details below.
Do not purchase a second plan until the original billing source and entitlement have been checked. Some plan and device combinations can also have restrictions: Bell says certain devices and features are not supported on its listed ad-supported offering. Check the terms for your specific plan before treating a device limitation as a code failure. Bell’s plan page lists those restrictions.

Try browser, app and network fixes in order
- Refresh the inbox and wait several minutes before requesting one new code.
- Try the activation page in a private or incognito browser window.
- Temporarily disable extensions that block scripts, pop-ups, redirects or trackers; allow the required cookies and pop-ups for Crave and the provider site.
- Try another browser or device, then update the Crave app from the device’s official app store.
- Force-close and reopen the app. Restart the TV, console, phone or streaming device.
- If the activation page will not load, restart the home router. Temporarily disable a VPN, proxy, private relay or restrictive DNS service if you use one.
- Confirm the device is supported for your Crave plan and that the app was installed from its official app store.
These are general troubleshooting steps, not a claim that any one setting is a confirmed Crave-specific cause. If the same account works in a browser but not on a TV, focus on the device app, compatibility and pairing flow.
Who to contact when activation still fails
Contact the provider first
- Crave is missing from the provider account, the order is pending, or the provider says the entitlement is inactive.
- The activation email was never generated, or the provider account has the wrong email or phone number.
- You were promised Crave in a bundle or promotion but it does not appear in the account.
- You are billed by the provider and cannot get past provider authorization.
Contact Crave when the provider confirms access
- The provider confirms the subscription is active, but Crave will not link it.
- The verification code arrives but is repeatedly rejected, or activation completes but the app remains stuck.
- The subscription appears linked to the wrong Crave account, or the problem persists across browsers and devices after entitlement is confirmed.
Have the provider name, device and operating system, exact error message, billing source, activation email address and approximate time you requested the code ready. If support requests a screenshot, obscure private information. Share neither your password nor a one-time code. Use official provider and Crave apps or websites; do not pay an unofficial activation service, install remote-control software at an unsolicited agent’s request, or enter credentials on a site reached from an untrusted message.
