How the match was covered

United Kingdom

  • Radio: BBC 5 Sports Extra and BBC Local Radio.
  • Live text: BBC Sport’s website and app.
  • Video: Premiership Rugby’s 2023–24 broadcast arrangements were associated with TNT Sports. The contemporaneous BBC preview does not verify a free BBC video stream or BBC iPlayer coverage for this semi-final. Its TNT Sports viewing guide is a general rights page, not a match-specific archive listing.

Do not confuse the 2024 services with the current UK setup. TNT Sports’ later guide says 2025–26 coverage moved its streaming presentation to HBO Max; that does not establish how this 2024 semi-final can be replayed today. See the current TNT Sports guide for present-day Premiership fixtures.

United States

Major League Rugby announced The Rugby Network as the exclusive U.S. streaming home for all 93 Premiership matches during the 2023–24 season. That was the relevant U.S. rights route for this event, subject to territory and account restrictions. A UK TNT Sports subscription would not automatically provide U.S. access.

United Kingdom and Ireland 7:45 p.m. BST
U.S. Eastern 2:45 p.m. ET
U.S. Pacific 11:45 a.m. PT

These are time-zone conversions for the 2024 fixture date, not a current kickoff.

Why the semi-final mattered

Northampton finished top of the Premiership table. Saracens, the reigning champions, finished fourth after a 20–10 home loss to Sale Sharks in their final league match. Northampton had completed a league double over Saracens: 18–12 at StoneX Stadium in December 2023 and 41–30 at Franklin’s Gardens in March 2024.

The tie also revisited the clubs’ 2015 semi-final. Northampton had lost away semi-finals to Leicester in 2022 and Saracens in 2023, making a home playoff especially significant. The match carried a farewell element: Courtney Lawes was making what Northampton described as his final home appearance, while Owen Farrell and the Vunipola brothers were approaching departures from Saracens.
