No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski is a six-episode National Geographic docuseries in which Porowski travels with six celebrity guests to explore family stories and heritage through food. Each episode pairs a guest’s roots with a place, its food traditions and a shared meal.
What is No Taste Like Home about?
Hosted by Antoni Porowski, the series follows celebrities to places connected to their ancestry. They meet local people, learn about regional ingredients and cooking techniques, and consider how family stories are carried through food. National Geographic says each episode culminates in a family meal built around a classic dish from the region. National Geographic’s series page and its episode guide describe the format.
The show treats cuisine as a way into cultural memory and personal identity—not as proof that a single recipe can establish a complete family history. Porowski, the host and an executive producer, described food as “the great connector” in a National Geographic announcement dated May 13, 2024.
Which celebrities and destinations are featured?

How does food connect to family history in the series?
Food gives each journey a tangible starting point: a familiar family dish, a regional tradition or a way of cooking that prompts questions about where a family came from. Guests encounter the people and foodways of the featured place, then bring those experiences together over a meal. The structure connects personal recollection to local context while leaving room for each guest’s story to be distinctive.
The descriptions establish how the series presents these discoveries; they do not document an independent genealogical audit. The show’s ancestry claims are best understood as part of the participants’ on-screen journeys and the program’s own episode synopses.
