Promoter MOJO said the Amsterdam performance would no longer take place “due to the events of last week” and that tickets would be refunded at the point of sale. It did not give a more detailed reason.
What happened to the Amsterdam show?
The canceled date was Minaj’s second scheduled performance at Ziggo Dome. She had performed at the Amsterdam venue on May 23, 2024; the next show was set for Sunday, June 2.
MOJO’s event notice stated: “Due to the events of last week, the Nicki Minaj show on Sunday, 2nd June at Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam will no longer be taking place.” The promoter added: “Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale.” MOJO’s event listing recorded the cancellation and refund information.
How the Schiphol detention affected her schedule
On May 25, Minaj was detained at Schiphol Airport as she prepared to travel to Manchester. Dutch military police described the case as involving a 41-year-old American woman arrested for exporting “soft drugs.” The Associated Press reported that she was fined and released. Minaj said the items found in her luggage belonged to her security team; those accounts should not be conflated as a settled determination of ownership. AP’s report covered the detention and its effect on the Manchester performance.

The delay meant Minaj missed her May 25 Manchester concert. Live Nation said, as quoted by AP, “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible.” Minaj announced on May 27 that the Manchester date would instead take place June 3, 2024. That concert was postponed and rescheduled; the Amsterdam date was canceled.
What MOJO did—and did not—say about the cancellation
MOJO’s public explanation was limited to “the events of last week.” NOS and other contemporaneous coverage connected the Amsterdam cancellation to the Schiphol incident, but the promoter did not publicly describe a more specific rationale or say that a legal requirement caused its decision. NOS reported the cancellation and also reported Minaj’s allegation of racial discrimination at Schiphol; the Marechaussee denied racist conduct. Those are opposing attributed statements, not an established finding.
