This October 11, 2024 ranking puts five new releases in order of watchability, from the horror series Teacup to Alfonso Cuarón’s thriller Disclaimer. It is a dated editorial list—not a ratings chart or a guide to what is streaming now. For documentary viewers, The Last of the Sea Women is the nonfiction pick.
The five releases, ranked
The order below follows the original article’s editorial judgment about what was worth watching that weekend. It uses no published numerical score or audience-viewing data, so it should be read as a critic’s ranking rather than an objective measurement. The list spans horror, thriller, drama, and documentary.

Teacup — fifth
Ian McCulloch adapted this horror series from Robert McCammon’s 1988 novel Stinger. A family on a rural farm faces a gas-masked stranger. The article described eight episodes of roughly 30 minutes each. At the time, two episodes were available, with two more releasing each Thursday; that was the October 2024 schedule, not a current one.
-
Caddo Lake — fourth
This thriller, produced by M. Night Shyamalan and written and directed by Logan George and Celine Held, links two searches: one for a missing eight-year-old girl, and others tied to separate family disappearances and the secrets of a swamp. The October 2024 article listed Max as its streaming destination.

-
The Last of the Sea Women — second
Produced by Malala Yousafzai, this documentary follows elderly women on South Korea’s Jeju Island who dive to harvest seafood. It focuses on an endangered tradition and offers the list’s nonfiction alternative to its scripted horror and thrillers. Apple TV+ was the October 2024 streaming destination reported in the article.

Disclaimer — first
Alfonso Cuarón’s seven-part thriller stars Cate Blanchett as journalist Catherine Ravenscroft, whose life is unsettled when an unsolicited novel appears to expose hidden parts of her past. The original article praised the series’ shifting narrative form and finale. In her review, Mashable Entertainment Reporter Belen Edwards wrote: “The overall effect of Disclaimer is one of intrigue and of questioning the layers of narrative you see before you. With its commitment to formal changeups and a brutal knockout of a finale, it’s a puzzle that gets under your skin and refuses to leave.” Its first two episodes were available on Apple TV+ in October 2024, with new episodes then arriving Fridays; that schedule is historical.
Which one fits your watch?
- For a documentary: Choose The Last of the Sea Women for a portrait of Jeju divers and a tradition under threat.
- For a feature-length horror watch: Mr. Crocket is the film in the ranking; the other scripted picks are series.
- For a serialized mystery or thriller: The ranking’s top choice is Disclaimer; Caddo Lake offers a separate missing-person mystery.
- For rural, contained horror: Teacup centers on a family facing an unsettling stranger at their farm.
