For October 2026, the clearest picks span new series such as Small Prophets, Avatar: Seven Havens and VisionQuest, plus returning seasons of Tulsa King and The Terminal List. The list below separates premieres already available by October 8 from later releases; it is a watchlist, not a complete catalog.
New series and seasons that have premiered by October 8
| Series | Service | What it is | October release |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small Prophets | Apple TV | New comedy series | First two episodes October 7, then weekly through November 4 |
| The Sisters Grimm, season 2 | Apple TV | Returning animated fantasy series | October 2 |
| East of Eden | Netflix | New limited series | Premiere October 1 |
| Below | Netflix | New limited series | Premiere October 8 |
| Carrie | Prime Video | New series | Premiere October 7 |
Apple TV: Small Prophets
Apple’s announcement says the comedy began with two episodes on October 7, followed by weekly installments through November 4. That means it is not a full-season drop. Apple also says the series will not reach subscribers in the U.K. until 2027.
Apple TV: The Sisters Grimm, season 2
The second season of the animated fantasy series arrived October 2, according to Apple’s October originals listing. It is a returning season, not a new series.
Netflix: East of Eden and Below
The October calendar lists East of Eden as a limited-series premiere on October 1 and Below on October 8. The latter is a same-day release for this October 8 watchlist, so its availability may depend on when the service updates in your time zone. Netflix describes its 2026 slate as non-comprehensive, so these entries should not be read as its full October lineup.

How to use an October release calendar
- Check whether a listing is a new series or a new season; the distinction matters if you are looking for a starting point rather than a continuation.
- Use the premiere date as a schedule, not a guarantee: services may update their catalogs at different local times, and regional rights can differ.
- Check the show’s service page for its episode rollout when the calendar does not specify whether it is weekly or a full-season release.
- Treat this as a selection rather than an exhaustive slate. The multi-service calendar is a dated snapshot, and Netflix explicitly says its announced 2026 slate is not comprehensive.
The broad October calendar, updated October 2, comes from Tom’s Guide. Apple’s overall 2026 slate announcement offers wider context, but current title pages and service schedules are more useful for checking dates and availability.
