The images do not establish why the room was there, whether it was used for dental treatment, or what the masks represented.
What the photographs show
The room appears arranged like a dentist’s office or surgery. A chair and other equipment are visible, while face-like masks hang on the walls. Those details explain why the images have drawn attention, but appearance alone cannot establish what happened in the room.
The masks’ purpose is unclear. The cited reporting does not identify what they depict or connect them to any crime. Speculation about their meaning goes beyond what the photographs show.
How the images were released
House Oversight Democrats released photographs and videos of Little St. James on December 3, 2025. Contemporary reports say the images came from the U.S. Virgin Islands government. India Today reported ten photographs and four videos, while Futurism described the supplied set as roughly one hundred images. Because the outlets’ counts differ and may cover different materials, there is no single total to state confidently.

Futurism reported that the images were taken in 2020, but the available reporting does not independently establish that date for every image. The House release should also not be confused with a separate Department of Justice image archive: a Wikimedia Commons record for FBI image EFTA00001863 identifies it as made during an FBI search of Little St. James on August 12, 2019, and as part of DOJ files released December 19, 2025. That catalog entry describes a separate image and source record, not the House Democrats’ photo release.
Why was there a dentist’s office on the island?
The cited sources do not explain the room’s purpose or identify who installed, operated or used it. They also do not establish whether it was a working dental clinic or who, if anyone, received treatment there. The photographs support calling it a dental-looking room; they do not answer why it existed.

What House Oversight Democrats said
Futurism quoted Robert Garcia, identified in its report as the House Oversight Committee’s Ranking Member, saying: “These new images are a disturbing look into the world of Jeffrey Epstein and his island,” and: “We are releasing these photos and videos to ensure public transparency in our investigation and to help piece together the full picture of Epstein’s horrific crimes.”
