Netflix Canada had a busy October 2024, mixing returning favourites with new originals, Halloween-ready horror, documentaries, anime, comedy specials and family titles. The month’s biggest arrivals included Heartstopper Season 3 on October 3, Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 and Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft on October 10, and The Diplomat Season 2 on October 31. This is a historical Canada-specific release guide—not a statement of what is currently streaming, and not a list for Netflix in the United States.
Netflix Canada’s October 2024 lineup mixed returning series, new originals, documentaries, comedy, anime, family programming and a substantial Halloween selection. The month’s biggest arrivals included Heartstopper Season 3 on October 3, Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 and Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft on October 10, and The Diplomat Season 2 on October 31.
This is a historical Canada-specific release guide. It covers titles Netflix Canada announced or listed for October 2024—not everything currently available in Canada, and not Netflix’s United States schedule. Netflix’s catalogue varies by region and can change over time, so an October 2024 addition or departure should not be treated as a guarantee of present-day availability.
The biggest Netflix Canada releases in October 2024
Heartstopper: Season 3 — October 3
All eight episodes of Heartstopper Season 3 arrived on October 3, 2024. The season marked a more mature chapter for Nick and Charlie as they dealt with new emotional, personal and relationship challenges. For viewers following Netflix Canada’s returning dramas, it was one of the clearest events of the month.

Outer Banks: Season 4, Part 1 — October 10
Netflix Canada added the first five episodes of Outer Banks Season 4 on October 10. This was not the complete season: Part 2 followed on November 7, 2024. Any October 2024 guide that describes the October arrival as the full fourth season is overstating what was released during the month.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft — October 10
This animated adventure series follows Lara Croft after the events of the Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider video games. Netflix positioned the series as a continuation of the Survivor trilogy’s story, with Lara travelling the globe and confronting new threats.
The Diplomat: Season 2 — October 31
The Diplomat Season 2 arrived on Halloween, picking up shortly after the bomb explosion that ended the first season. It was the month’s major late-arriving political thriller and a direct continuation for viewers who had already completed Season 1.
Documentaries and documentary-style true crime
October also offered several notable factual and documentary releases. The schedule included Starting 5, following NBA players; The Menendez Brothers; Ancient Apocalypse: The Americas; I Am a Killer Season 5; Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare; The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox; This Is the Zodiac Speaking; Uprising; The Remarkable Life of Ibelin; and Part 2 of Simone Biles Rising.

Halloween and horror on Netflix Canada
Netflix Canada’s October schedule had a clear Halloween focus. The month brought the original Halloween, the first three Insidious films, Sinister and Sinister 2, and Scream 2 through Scream 4. Other genre additions included the horror-comedy Tucker and Dale vs Evil, the unsettling science-fiction thriller The Platform, and newer thrillers such as Don’t Move and Time Cut.
There were also darker series and films outside the conventional slasher category, including Hellbound Season 2, Chucky Season 1, Outside, The Shadow Strays and The Last Night at Tremore Beach. The exact mix made October useful both for a traditional horror marathon and for viewers looking for supernatural, psychological or action-oriented suspense.

Netflix Games available during the period
The same Netflix Canada guide noted that Netflix Games available during the period included Battleship, Monument Valley 1, Netflix Stories: Selling Sunset and SpongeBob: Bubble Pop F.U.N.
Netflix’s supported-device guidance says games may also be available on compatible televisions and TV streaming devices in Canada. Availability depends on the device, the Netflix app and a stable internet connection. In the television beta experience, each player may also need a phone or tablet to use as a controller. Support is not universal across every television or streaming device.

How to watch Netflix Canada titles on a television
Netflix can be watched on supported smart TVs, streaming sticks and boxes, media players, game consoles, cable boxes, phones, tablets and computer browsers. Device support varies, and older hardware may eventually stop being supported.
If your television is older or does not have a supported Netflix app, a Netflix-compatible streaming device can be a practical way to add access. Check the device’s current Netflix support, your television’s HDMI requirements and your Netflix plan before buying. A 4K-capable device alone does not guarantee Ultra HD playback: the television, plan, internet connection, HDMI/HDCP setup, device and Netflix quality settings must all meet the relevant requirements.
Do not assume that every streaming stick works with Netflix Canada or that every device supports 4K. Compatibility and picture quality are configuration-specific, and product availability in Canada can change.
