Archive note: This is a retrospective of the U.S. streaming schedule for February 2024. The dates below describe when titles arrived on the named services at that time; they do not guarantee that every film or show is still available there now.
February 2024 brought a particularly strong mix of streaming premieres, returning seasons, documentaries, and weekly television events. The priority shortlist included Mr. & Mrs. Smith on Prime Video, the final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm on Max, The Marvels on Disney+, One Day and Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix, Halo Season 2 on Paramount+, Oppenheimer on Peacock, Constellation and The New Look on Apple TV+, and FX’s Shōgun on Hulu.
This guide separates brand-new series, returning seasons, movies making their streaming debuts, licensed library additions, complete-season drops, and weekly releases. All dates are U.S. dates announced for February 2024.
The biggest February 2024 releases
If you wanted only the most consequential releases, these were the titles to put at the top of the queue. The list is an editorial priority order based on audience interest, scale, franchise relevance, and the variety of viewing experiences on offer—not a claim that one show is objectively better than all the others.
-
Mr. & Mrs. Smith — Prime Video, February 2. Donald Glover and Maya Erskine play strangers brought together as married spies in an arranged cover relationship. It combines espionage, comedy, action, and a relationship drama, making it one of the month’s most broadly appealing new series. Amazon’s announcement and cast feature confirms the February 2 premiere and the central premise.
-
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 — Max, February 4. Larry David’s HBO comedy returned for its final season. The correct premiere date was February 4; one Rotten Tomatoes highlight box listed February 9, but both the detailed schedule in that article and Max’s official February announcement give February 4.
-
The Marvels — Disney+, February 7. This was a major Marvel streaming premiere, not a brand-new February movie: the theatrical film moved into the Disney+ catalog, accompanied by Assembled: The Making of The Marvels. It is most useful for viewers who missed the theatrical run or want to catch up with the Marvel storyline.

One Day — Netflix, February 8. This 14-episode limited series adapts David Nicholls’ novel and follows the same two people through recurring encounters over many years. Netflix released it as a complete romance binge, making it the clearest Valentine’s-season choice for viewers who wanted a full story rather than a weekly wait.
-
Halo Season 2 — Paramount+, February 8. The video-game adaptation began its second season with two episodes, then moved to a weekly schedule. Paramount’s announcement confirms the two-episode launch and global premiere.
-
The New Look — Apple TV+, February 14. This historical drama about Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, and fashion during the Nazi occupation launched with its first three episodes, then continued weekly through April 3. Its subject matter makes it a natural choice for viewers interested in cultural history, biography, and the relationship between art and political power.
-
Oppenheimer — Peacock, February 16. Christopher Nolan’s historical drama about J. Robert Oppenheimer and the Manhattan Project made its major streaming arrival on Peacock. Its length and seriousness make it a deliberate movie-night choice rather than casual background viewing.

The Bad Batch Season 3 — Disney+, February 21. The final season of the animated Star Wars series opened with three episodes and then continued weekly. It is aimed primarily at viewers who had already followed the clone force through the first two seasons.
-
Constellation — Apple TV+, February 21. Noomi Rapace led this science-fiction thriller, which began with three episodes before moving to a weekly release pattern. It was the month’s strongest choice for viewers who prefer cerebral, unsettling space mysteries over straightforward action.
-
Avatar: The Last Airbender — Netflix, February 22. Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the beloved animated fantasy series arrived with an eight-episode first season. Netflix Tudum confirms both the date and episode count.
-
The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy — Prime Video, February 23. This adult animated science-fiction comedy followed alien doctors handling bizarre medical cases. It offered a very different kind of animation from the family titles arriving on Netflix and Disney+.

Shōgun — Hulu and FX, February 27. FX’s historical limited series transported viewers to Japan in 1600 amid political maneuvering, cultural conflict, and a struggle for power. It was a late-month weekly event, not a complete binge available on February 1.
Best picks by mood
Best spy drama: Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Choose this for action that is also interested in marriage, trust, and incompatibility. Its arranged-spouse premise gives the spy format a character-driven engine.
Best romance: One Day
The Netflix limited series was the most straightforward complete romance binge of the month. No prior viewing was required, and all 14 episodes were available at launch.
Best prestige historical drama: Shōgun
FX’s adaptation was the pick for viewers who wanted political intrigue, samurai-era drama, and a carefully paced weekly event. Because it premiered February 27, viewers should not expect the full season from the initial date.

Peacock’s February 16 arrival was the month’s major prestige-film streaming event. It suits viewers ready to spend a substantial evening with a historical drama rather than a short, lightweight movie.

Best family animation: Iwájú
Disney+ released all six episodes of Iwájú on February 28. The animated series was created through a collaboration between Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Pan-African entertainment company Kugali, and its Lagos-set futurism gave the family slate a distinctive setting. Disney’s announcement provides the collaboration and launch details.
Best science fiction: Constellation
Apple TV+’s Noomi Rapace-led series was the choice for viewers who like psychological uncertainty and space mysteries. It began with three episodes, so it offered an initial sample without becoming an all-at-once binge.
Best superhero option: The Marvels
The Disney+ streaming premiere was the convenient February entry point for Marvel subscribers. Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and WandaVision provide useful context, although they are not prerequisites for understanding every scene.

Best comedy: Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12
Max’s final season was the obvious choice for established fans of Larry David’s improvisational social disasters. New viewers can start with a recap, but the long-running character history is part of the appeal.
Best sports documentary: Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 6
Netflix’s returning documentary series arrived February 23 for viewers who wanted a behind-the-scenes look at Formula 1’s drivers, teams, rivalries, and business pressures.
Best adult animation: The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy
Prime Video’s February 23 series was the month’s most notable new adult animated comedy, with science-fiction world-building rather than a conventional workplace setting.

Prime Video and Freevee
Amazon’s February schedule requires a distinction that many streaming roundups blur. Prime Video originals and Prime-included titles are not automatically the same thing as Freevee releases, which were free, ad-supported programming. Amazon’s monthly pages could also mention channel titles, rentals, purchases, and regional offerings. The date and premise for Mr. & Mrs. Smith are confirmed by Amazon’s U.S. announcement; additional February context appears in Amazon Australia’s schedule and Amazon UK’s February list.
| Date | Title | What it was | Release handling |

Date correction: If you encounter a February 9 date for Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 in older roundup coverage, treat it as an error in the highlight section. The platform’s own listing and the detailed schedule used February 4.
Paramount+
Halo Season 2 was Paramount+’s principal February event. It began with two episodes and then released one episode each week. Paramount+’s episode guide confirms the February dates.
| Date | Release | Handling |
|---|---|---|
| Feb. 8 | Halo Season 2, Episodes 1–2 | Two-episode season premiere |
| Feb. 15 | Halo Season 2, Episode 3 | Weekly episode |
| Feb. 22 | Halo Season 2, Episode 4 | Weekly episode |

Apple TV+
Apple TV+ used different launch patterns for each of its major February series. Apple’s February announcement confirms the first-batch arrangements for The New Look and Constellation, while its separate announcement for Messi’s World Cup describes that title as a four-part documentary event.
| Date | Title | What it was | Release handling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feb. 14 | The New Look | Historical drama series | First three episodes, then weekly through April 3 |
| Feb. 16 | The Dynasty: New England Patriots | Sports documentary series | Documentary-series premiere |
| Feb. 21 | Constellation | Science-fiction thriller series | First three episodes, then weekly |

Peacock
Peacock’s February archive identifies Oppenheimer as the month’s major film arrival and records the launches below. As with other services, the availability of an individual title could depend on the plan and the service’s changing terms.

Do not misdate Trolls Band Together: Peacock published or promoted its streaming announcement on February 15, but the actual streaming release was March 15, 2024. The February announcement date is not a February availability date. Peacock’s title announcement makes the distinction clear.
Documentaries and nonfiction to prioritize
For documentary viewers, February 2024 was more substantial than a simple scripted-release calendar suggests.

- How to Train Your Dragon 2 — Netflix, February 1: a licensed animated movie.
- Orion and the Dark — Netflix, February 2: a Netflix animated film.
- Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken — Netflix, February 20: a DreamWorks animated movie.

Romance and Valentine’s Day viewing
February’s romance options ranged from a literary limited series to reality dating and lighter romantic comedies:

Weekly-release tracker
These were the February shows most likely to be missed by viewers who checked a service only on premiere day. A premiere date did not necessarily mean a complete season was available.
| Series | Service | February 2024 pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 | Max | Premiered Feb. 4 and continued weekly; final season |
| Tokyo Vice Season 2 | Max | Returned Feb. 8 with a continuing weekly release |
| Halo Season 2 | Paramount+ | Two episodes Feb. 8, followed by weekly episodes Feb. 15, Feb. 22, and Feb. 29 |
| The Bad Batch Season 3 | Disney+ | Three episodes Feb. 21, followed by weekly episodes |

| Shōgun | Hulu/FX | Weekly FX/Hulu release beginning Feb. 27 |
| Expats | Prime Video | Weekly episodes continued during February, leading to the published Feb. 23 finale |
What required prior viewing?
| Title | How much preparation helps? |
|---|---|
| The Marvels | Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and WandaVision provide useful context. They are helpful rather than strictly mandatory. |
| The Bad Batch Season 3 | Watch Seasons 1 and 2 first. The third season continues the existing story rather than functioning as a standalone entry point. |
| Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 | A recap or earlier-season viewing is useful because the comedy’s long-running relationships and grudges are part of the joke. |
| Tokyo Vice Season 2 | Season 1 is required for the continuing crime story and character arcs. |
| Halo Season 2 | Watch Season 1 or use a detailed recap before starting the new season. |
| One Day | No prior viewing is needed; it is a self-contained limited series. |
| Iwájú, Suncoast, Oppenheimer, and The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy | All were suitable as standalone starting points, although Oppenheimer benefits from attention to its historical setting. |
How to choose a one-service or two-service plan
If you already have Netflix
Prioritize One Day, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 6, Orion and the Dark, Thanksgiving, Players, and Code 8: Part II. Netflix offered the strongest combination of complete-season viewing, family animation, licensed movies, romance, and documentary nonfiction.
If you already have Disney+ and Hulu
This combination covered The Marvels, The Bad Batch, Iwájú, The Space Race, Life & Beth Season 2, Suncoast, Next Goal Wins, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, and the weekly launch of Shōgun. It was especially strong for families, Marvel viewers, documentaries, and FX programming.
If you want the month’s biggest weekly events
A two-service plan built around Paramount+ and Hulu or Apple TV+ would have covered Halo Season 2, Shōgun, Constellation, and The New Look. This plan was better for viewers who enjoy discussing episodes week by week than for anyone seeking immediate complete seasons.
If you want movies rather than series
The main film route was Peacock for Oppenheimer, Disney+ for The Marvels, Hulu for Suncoast and Next Goal Wins, and Netflix for Thanksgiving, Players, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, and Code 8: Part II. Whether a movie was included in a particular plan depended on the service’s terms at the time.
Titles that left or were easy to miss
Dune leaving Netflix on February 29
Contemporaneous Netflix coverage identified Denis Villeneuve’s Dune as leaving Netflix on February 29, one day before Dune: Part Two opened theatrically on March 1. This was a useful watch-before-it-leaves recommendation in February 2024, but it is not a statement about the film’s availability today. Time’s February Netflix coverage recorded the departure.
Do not confuse announcement dates with streaming dates
Trolls Band Together illustrates the problem. Peacock’s February 15 announcement concerned a March 15 streaming release. A February article could mention the announcement, but the movie did not become available on Peacock in February.
Availability and subscription notes
- Geography: The calendar is limited to the U.S. schedule. International release dates and catalogs could differ.
- Historical availability: A title’s February 2024 arrival does not mean it remains on the same service now. Licensing windows change.
- New versus newly available: The Marvels, Oppenheimer, Next Goal Wins, and Thanksgiving were new streaming arrivals after earlier release windows. Monk, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Great Gatsby, and Moneyball were older library additions.
- Prime Video: Check whether a listing was included with Prime, free through Freevee, part of a Prime Video Channel, or available only to rent or buy.
- Ad-supported and plan restrictions: A title being listed on a service does not necessarily mean it was included in the cheapest plan or without advertisements.
- Episode cadence: Check the service’s episode page before subscribing for a specific binge. Halo, The New Look, Constellation, The Bad Batch, Shōgun, Tokyo Vice, and Expats were not simple all-at-once season drops.
- Scores: This guide omits Rotten Tomatoes scores because reviews and audience scores change. Any score quoted from the original February 2024 coverage should be labeled with its date.
Other notable services

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a current streaming guide?
No. It is a U.S. retrospective of titles that arrived during February 2024. Films and shows may have moved to different services or left streaming since then.
Which February 2024 releases were complete-season drops?
Netflix’s One Day arrived as a complete 14-episode limited series. Hulu released all 10 episodes of Life & Beth Season 2 at once, and Disney+ released all six episodes of Iwájú together. Many other major releases, including Halo, Shōgun, The New Look, Constellation, and The Bad Batch, used weekly or batch-based schedules.
Did Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 premiere on February 4 or February 9?
February 4, 2024 is the correct date. Max’s official announcement and the detailed platform schedule gave February 4. A February 9 date appeared in an inconsistent Rotten Tomatoes highlight box.
Was Oppenheimer included with Peacock?
It was listed as a Peacock streaming arrival on February 16, 2024, but plan terms and ad-supported availability can change. The archive does not guarantee that it is included in every current or past Peacock plan.
What should I watch before The Marvels or the returning seasons?
Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and WandaVision provide useful context for The Marvels. Watch earlier seasons before The Bad Batch Season 3, Tokyo Vice Season 2, Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12, and Halo Season 2 if you want the continuing story.
The Bottom Line
For a single February 2024 priority list, start with Mr. & Mrs. Smith, One Day, Oppenheimer, Shōgun, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Documentary viewers should add Lover, Stalker, Killer, The Space Race, The Dynasty: New England Patriots, Messi’s World Cup, and Iwájú: A Day Ahead. The key practical distinction is cadence: some titles were ready to binge immediately, while others were weekly events. Because this is a historical calendar, check the current service catalog before assuming any title is still available.
