The newer LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean is Time Machine from Back to the Future (set 77256), a 357-piece Speed Champions model for ages 9+. LEGO’s US listing showed it at $27.99 and marked it “Available now” on October 8, 2026. LEGO also lists a separate, much larger adult build, set 10300, so check the set number before buying.

#1 Best Overall
- Relive memories of Back to the Future with this Time Machine model car building kit with 3 versions - 1 for each movie in the iconic trilogy!
- Version 1 includes a lightning rod and plutonium chamber; version 2 brings the Mr. Fusion generator and hover conversion function to flight mode
- Version 3 of this LEGO car set has whitewall tires and a circuit board plus interchangeable license plates, including the iconic OUTATIME plate
- This LEGO car for adults has gull-wing doors, fold-down wheels, light-up flux capacitor, printed dates on the dashboard and an opening trunk

What the larger set 10300 offers
Set 10300 is an alternative if you want a substantial adult build rather than the newer, smaller car. LEGO lists 1,872 pieces and two minifigures: Doc Brown and Marty McFly. The build can be configured as one of three movie versions, with features such as gull-wing doors, folding tires for flight mode, a light-up flux capacitor, printed dashboard dates and movie accessories. It builds one version at a time, not all three simultaneously.
LEGO announced set 10300 in 2022 at an original recommended US retail price of $169.99, with availability beginning April 1, 2022. That historical MSRP differs from the $199.99 shown on LEGO’s US listing on October 8, 2026. The two figures describe different points in time; the current product page is the place to verify today’s price and stock. LEGO’s 2022 announcement gives the original release details, and its building-instructions record identifies set 10300 as an 18+ LEGO Icons set with 1,872 pieces from 2022.

How to choose between 77256 and 10300
- Choose 77256 if you mean the newer LEGO release, want the smaller Speed Champions model, or are shopping for a set labeled ages 9+.
- Choose 10300 if you want the larger, adult-oriented build and its choice of three movie configurations.
- When shopping anywhere, match the set number—77256 or 10300—to the LEGO product name. The shared DeLorean subject alone is not enough to distinguish them.
