The story connects scientific anomalies with the discovery of an existential threat. The title refers to a classical mechanics problem: predicting how three bodies move under their mutual gravitational influence. In the series, that scientific idea connects to the unstable conditions of the aliens’ three-sun world. The concept does not mean that mathematics offers no solutions of any kind; the challenge is predicting the system’s behavior in general.

BGR reported on March 16, 2024, that the production cost was $20 million per episode, or $160 million across eight episodes. The article did not identify the original source for those figures, so they should be treated as reported estimates, not as a confirmed Netflix budget disclosure. A large reported budget alone does not establish whether a series will succeed.
