What the August 2020 schedule covers
Netflix catalogues differ by country, so the dates below refer to the US schedules published at the time. What’s on Netflix described its list as a US schedule incorporating Netflix’s announced titles, while noting that additions could occur. TIME and Forbes also published date-organized roundups. These are historical arrival records; they do not establish current availability.

The sources do not verify the exact “59 new movies” total or specify what that number counts. What’s on Netflix, for example, reported 41 new titles on August 1 alone—not 41 films for the month. The schedules also include TV seasons and other non-film programming, so “titles” and “movies” cannot be treated as interchangeable.
Notable film and series arrivals
August 1: a large opening-day batch
What’s on Netflix listed 41 new titles for August 1, including the films A Knight’s Tale, An Education, Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Jurassic Park. That is the source’s count for that date; it is not a verified August-wide movie total.

August 7: Netflix original film
Work It was among the Netflix-original film highlights identified in the August schedule coverage.
August 14: a series and an original film
The four books of The Legend of Korra were listed for August 14. It is an animated series, not a movie. Project Power, identified by Forbes as a Netflix film, was also scheduled for that date.
August 23: licensed film
What’s on Netflix listed 1BR for August 23.
August 28: film and series arrivals
All Together Now was a Netflix-original film scheduled for August 28. Forbes also listed the first two seasons of Cobra Kai for that date; the show is a series, not a film.
August 31: Bond films
Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were listed among the August 31 arrivals by What’s on Netflix and TIME.

How to read the list
- Arrival dates are historical. A scheduled date says when a title was expected to join Netflix US in August 2020; it does not say whether the title remains in the catalogue.
- Formats differ. The month’s coverage mixes feature films with series and other programming. For example, The Legend of Korra and Cobra Kai are series.
- Originals and licensed titles are different categories. The sources identify some titles, such as Project Power and Work It, as Netflix films; an arrival on Netflix alone does not make every listed film a Netflix original.
