What changed in Netflix’s U.S. prices
The following monthly rates are for the U.S. price change reported in March 2026. TechCrunch and ABC News reported the new plan prices after Netflix confirmed the change; ABC News also reported the extra-member fees.

These figures describe the U.S. change, not a worldwide rate card. Netflix says prices and extra-member eligibility can vary by location and package. Its Plans and Pricing help page displays localized pricing, so use your own account rather than assuming a displayed price applies in the U.S. or elsewhere.

New members saw the updated U.S. prices beginning March 26, 2026, according to TechCrunch’s report on Netflix’s confirmation.

Existing subscribers
Netflix said existing members would receive an email one month before their individual new rate took effect, with the transition rolling out over the following months according to billing cycle. Check the email or your Netflix account for the exact amount and effective date; the general announcement does not determine when your own bill changes.
What to check before changing plans
If you are deciding whether to keep, change, or cancel a plan, compare its features with how your household actually watches. Netflix lists differences among plans in ads, resolution, simultaneous devices, downloads, and extra-member eligibility. Those feature differences do not by themselves mean a particular subscriber should upgrade or downgrade.

A Netflix spokesperson told ABC News in a statement on March 27, 2026, that the company was updating prices “to enable us to reinvest in quality entertainment and improve their experience.” That is Netflix’s stated rationale; the statement does not independently establish how the price increase will affect content or service for an individual subscriber.
