In an October 25, 2024 article, BGR’s Andy Meek described roughly 30 additions and singled out The Law According to Lidia Poët Season 2, arriving October 30, and The Diplomat Season 2, arriving October 31. Those dates have passed; the article does not establish whether either title is currently available in your country.
What the October 2024 Netflix roundup said
BGR characterized the week’s slate as “30 or so” TV shows and movies. That is an approximate count from the article, not an independently confirmed Netflix total. Its body highlights several other releases—including the documentary Martha, directed by R. J. Cutler, and The Remarkable Life of Ibelin—but does not enumerate every title in the slate.

The two “can’t-miss” choices are the article’s editorial recommendations, not an objective ranking. They offer contrasting viewing hooks: one is a period legal drama centered on women’s rights; the other is a contemporary political thriller about diplomacy and conspiracy.
The two featured shows
| Title | Arrival date stated by BGR | What the article highlights |
|---|---|---|
| The Law According to Lidia Poët, Season 2 | October 30, 2024 | A period drama about Italy’s first female lawyer, played by Matilda De Angelis. Lidia continues taking cases with her brother Enrico and advocating for women’s rights, while trying to persuade him to run for Parliament. BGR also points to complications involving Jacopo and the new King’s Attorney, Fourneau. |
| The Diplomat, Season 2 | October 31, 2024 | Keri Russell plays Kate Wyler, a career diplomat appointed ambassador to the UK. The season follows the fallout from a politically motivated attack in London as Kate tries to uncover the conspiracy behind it. Allison Janney joins the story as Vice President Grace Penn. |
Choose Lidia Poët for a historical legal drama
The draw is Lidia’s work as a lawyer in a period when her pursuit of legal and social change puts her at odds with the constraints around her. The second season’s family and political threads, as described by BGR, add to that central conflict.

Choose The Diplomat for political intrigue
The Diplomat shifts to present-day power struggles: Kate is dealing with the consequences of an attack while trying to identify who was behind it. BGR also relays creator Debora Cahn’s description of the season-one relationship fallout: “The marriage she thought was over, the relationship she thought was beginning … all of it, in pieces.” The quotation is reported by BGR from a Netflix promotional interview.
What “next week” means now
The dates in the original headline are historical. They refer to October 30 and 31, 2024, respectively, and should not be read as current release announcements. Netflix availability can vary by country and change over time; check the Netflix catalog for your region for present-day status.
