Netflix’s 2024 preview highlighted films including Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F and Atlas. The often-quoted figure of 55 movies is not confirmed by the official Netflix sources cited here, so this is a guide to notable announced titles—not a verified, complete list of 55 releases. Release dates and availability can vary by country.
What Netflix announced for 2024
Netflix published a film and entertainment preview on February 7, 2024, describing a yearlong slate and showcasing a range of upcoming titles. Its examples included a science-fiction sequel, an action-comedy revival and a science-fiction thriller. Read Netflix’s 2024 preview.
A separate corporate announcement dated February 1, 2024, presented the lineup as global and directed readers to country-specific lists. That distinction matters: a title or release date announced for one market should not be assumed to apply everywhere. See Netflix’s corporate announcement.
Notable movies in the preview
Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver
The second part continues Kora’s story as she and the surviving warriors work to defend Veldt. Netflix’s description frames it as a continuation of the conflict established in the first film.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F
Detective Axel Foley returns after his daughter is threatened. The preview describes him working with a new partner and familiar allies, bringing the action-comedy franchise back to the screen.
Atlas
This science-fiction story follows data analyst Atlas Shepherd on a mission to capture a renegade robot. The premise puts her in a position where she must decide whether to trust artificial intelligence.

Does Netflix’s 2024 slate contain exactly 55 movies?
The accessible official sources do not establish a total of 55 films. Netflix’s preview is a showcase, not a verified inventory of every movie released during the year, and the corporate announcement points to market-specific slates rather than one universal list. Treat “55” as an unconfirmed count unless a complete underlying list is checked title by title.

A 2024 preview records what Netflix announced at that time; it does not prove that every announced movie arrived on the planned date or remains in the catalog now. Release timing and streaming availability can differ by territory and change over time. For a current viewing decision, check the Netflix catalog in your country rather than relying on a historical slate announcement.
