Ned Fulmer revisited the affair that ended his work with The Try Guys in a PEOPLE interview published September 16, 2025. He discussed the fallout, his marriage to Ariel, and a planned podcast called Rock Bottom. His account offers his perspective on the years since the scandal; the group’s public statements explain its separate decision to part ways with him.

What Ned Fulmer said in the 2025 interview

Fulmer described the period after the affair as a time when he withdrew from the internet and worked to address the damage to his family. “For a long time, I wanted nothing to do with social media or the internet,” he told PEOPLE. He also said he felt ready to speak publicly again: “I feel ready to share my story and to move on into a new chapter.”

Fulmer said he and Ariel attended couples therapy and were working to rebuild trust. Reflecting on the cost, he said, “Every cent that we spent on therapy was worth it for the improvements in our family life.” These are Fulmer’s descriptions of the couple’s private experience, not independently verified findings about their relationship.

He also said that time away helped the couple reconsider privacy: “Having that break and the ability to reassess what privacy meant to us was like completely transformative.” Fulmer said he and Ariel wanted to keep their children out of videos and not make their relationship or family life a subject of videos.

What happened between Fulmer and The Try Guys

In September 2022, Fulmer acknowledged an extramarital relationship with an employee of the company. His statement described it as consensual and apologized for the pain his actions may have caused. He also wrote, “Family should have always been my priority, but I lost focus.” PEOPLE reported on Fulmer’s statement and the group’s announcement in September 2022.

The Try Guys said Fulmer was no longer working with the company after an internal review. The group’s statement, quoted by PEOPLE, said: “As a result of a thorough internal review, we do not see a path forward together.” That explains the group’s stated decision; it is distinct from Fulmer’s later account of his marriage and recovery.

What the group said about its review and videos

In October 2022, the remaining members described a three-week review involving lawyers, publicists, and HR experts. They also said Fulmer would be edited out of future videos. That description is the group’s public account of its process, as reported by PEOPLE.

Zach Kornfeld explained that some footage would not be released: “There are several videos that we’ve deemed as fully unreleasable. You will never see them, and that is due to his involvement.” The group’s comments describe its handling of its own videos; they do not provide an independent account of every private event surrounding the affair.

What was announced about Rock Bottom

PEOPLE reported that Fulmer planned to launch a podcast called Rock Bottom, with a debut episode featuring Ariel scheduled for September 17, 2025. That was the plan reported alongside the September 16 interview, not confirmation of the podcast’s current availability or later activity.

Fulmer’s interview therefore brought together two strands of his public response: his account of trying to repair family life and his stated intention to begin a new chapter. The 2022 statements from The Try Guys remain the clearest account in these reports of why the group ended its working relationship with him.
