What is Ne Zha 2 about?
The story picks up with Ne Zha and Ao Bing surviving as spirits, but their existence is at risk: they face dissipation. Taiyi attempts to reconstruct their mortal bodies with the Seven-colored Precious Lotus. A24’s synopsis describes Ne Zha as a rebellious boy feared by the gods, born to mortal parents with powers he cannot control.

The sequel is written and directed by Jiao Zi. CMC Pictures describes it as a comedy, drama and animation film. Its listing gives the runtime as 143 minutes and the language as Mandarin. CMC lists a release date of February 13, 2025, and names the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; that country list should not be taken as a complete account of worldwide releases.

Yeoh voices Ne Zha’s mother, Lady Yin, in the English dub, according to The Associated Press. This is not a complete cast list for the original Mandarin version; the Mandarin film and English dub are separate viewing options.
Is there an English dub?
Yes. The English-language dub opened in more than 2,500 North American theaters on August 22, 2025, according to The Associated Press. The original Mandarin version is also listed by CMC Pictures. Which audio and subtitle options are available for a digital listing can vary by service and location.
AP reported that the earlier subtitled version earned more than $20 million in North America. In its 2025 coverage of the dub, AP also reported that production took five years and involved about 4,000 people from 138 Chinese animation companies, with 2,400 animation shots and 1,900 special-effects shots.

A24’s film page links to digital viewing options at A24, Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube and Fandango at Home. Prime Video’s listing showed UHD rental and purchase options. Hulu also has a title page; its page describes HBO Max content through Hulu and says the Hulu with HBO Max offering is available only in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories.
