NCIS Season 23, Episode 5 is titled “Now And Then.” In the episode, a prison break sends the team back to a naval officer’s death case from the 1990s—one originally investigated by Gibbs and Franks—and brings retired special agent Vera Strickland back into the story. A separate Navy time-capsule debate gives the team a more personal question to work through.
