Spoilers: In Sara Netzley’s February 4, 2025 recap for Yahoo Entertainment, Nick Torres goes undercover as Donny Rico in a Baltimore gang, and a staged wedding becomes the team’s way into the case. When the gang’s leader turns out to be closer than expected, the reception becomes an arrest operation—and Jessica Knight makes a personal gesture toward Torres and her sister Robin.
Torres’s undercover identity puts the team on alert
Torres arrives at a crime scene looking exhausted and recognizes the victim, Vincent Kelso. He says he is sick and tries to leave; the recap reports that his fingerprints are found on a flask associated with Kelso. The reason for his evasiveness is a confidential assignment from NCIS Director Leon Vance: Torres is embedded as Donny Rico in a Baltimore gang that uses false military credentials to steal equipment from Navy bases and sell it on the black market.
Torres is trying to reach Wilk, the gang’s elusive leader, through Roman, an intermediary. Roman’s son distrusts Rico, while another member, Lenny, offers Torres a possible path toward Wilk. The leader avoids direct contact and communicates remotely. Baltimore detective Martin Alonzo adds another warning: Kelso was also working undercover, making Torres’s position especially dangerous.
A fake engagement becomes a way into Roman’s device
Knight runs into Torres while he is undercover. When gang members press her to explain who she is, she improvises that she is his fiancée. The team turns that cover into a plan: Parker proposes staging a wedding to get close to Roman’s hard-to-trace Palm Pilot.

Torres and Knight agree to play the couple. Vance funds the reception, with the recap describing negotiations over an open bar, buffet, and DJ—and a decision against hiring a live band. The celebration is cover for an attempt to clone Roman’s device through a camera connection.
Roman’s death derails the plan
The device is reported wiped shortly before Roman is found dead. He had complained of an upset stomach, and the team has to keep the reception going while pursuing the murder investigation. Suspicion turns toward Lana after she gives the bartender the whiskey served to Roman.
