The NBA’s venue announcement lists the event for 7:30 p.m. Eastern, while ESPN’s broadcast announcement lists televised coverage at 8 p.m. Eastern. Which networks showed each round?
First round
ABC and ESPN carried the first round in a simulcast. ABC was therefore an option for viewers with a local ABC affiliate, while ESPN was the complete network route for the night.

Second round
ESPN carried the second round. ABC did not carry that portion, so an ABC-only setup did not provide the full draft.
How legal online viewing worked
ESPN website or app
- Open the ESPN app or ESPN.com.
- Select the live ESPN channel or draft coverage.
- Sign in with a participating television-provider account.
- Confirm that the provider package includes ESPN.
Standalone digital access should not be assumed to include every program carried on the linear ESPN network. In particular, an ESPN+ subscription was not automatically equivalent to authenticated access to the ESPN television broadcast.
ABC digital access
ABC streaming depended on the viewer’s local affiliate, market and provider authentication. It was available only where the service supported live local ABC, so an internet connection alone did not guarantee access.
Live-TV streaming services
Cord-cutters generally used a live-TV package that carried ESPN for both rounds and, where available, a local ABC affiliate for the first round. Services such as Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Fubo, Sling TV and DIRECTV STREAM were examples of this type of route. Channel lineups, prices, promotions, local-network coverage and authentication rules change, so current pages cannot be treated as proof of their exact 2022 offerings.
A current subscription should not be purchased solely for the completed 2022 event unless the provider explicitly offers the replay. NBA League Pass was not identified in the official 2022 broadcast announcements as the draft-night outlet.

Reddit was a discussion and link-sharing platform, not an NBA, ESPN or ABC broadcast source. User-posted links could disappear during the event, redirect to deceptive pages, deliver poor-quality video or expose viewers to pop-ups and malicious download prompts. The reliable legal alternatives were an authenticated ESPN stream, an authenticated local ABC stream, an over-the-air ABC broadcast, or a legitimate live-TV provider.
Can the completed draft still be watched?
Availability of a complete replay depends on the platform’s current archive and rights. The NBA maintains an official 2022 Draft archive with draft information and related coverage, but a full, uninterrupted broadcast should not be promised without checking the specific service. Clips, pick announcements and analysis may remain available even when the original live feed does not.
Location and related coverage
Barclays Center in Brooklyn hosted the draft for the ninth time, according to the NBA. ESPN promoted coverage across ESPN, ABC and ESPN Radio. A 90-minute NBA TV mock-draft program aired on June 22, 2022, but that was preview programming, not the live draft. The NBA Draft Lottery, held May 17, 2022, was a separate event.
Viewing outside the United States
U.S. ABC and ESPN access did not necessarily work abroad. International viewers needed to check the NBA’s regional listings or the local rights-holder’s schedule for their country; the available U.S. announcements do not establish a complete international broadcaster list.
