What Buckley and Ryan announced
On 7 May 2025, 7NEWS reported that Ryan had announced their decision in a social media statement. “After much reflection and consideration, Nath and I have decided to part ways,” she said.
Ryan also thanked people for their support “over the past couple of months of heartache.” That phrase reflects her description of the period; the announcement did not explain what led to the separation. 7NEWS and The Nightly both reported the end of the relationship after about three years.
What Ryan said about the transition
Ryan expressed gratitude for the support she had received and conveyed respect and affection for Buckley and his sons. She asked for privacy as they adjusted to the change: “We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter in our lives.”

The Elwood home and the reported timeline
In its May 2025 coverage, 7NEWS reported that Ryan was moving out of the Elwood home the couple had bought together in June 2024. The report establishes that this move was happening around the time of the announcement; it does not establish that the home or any particular event caused their split.
How this differs from Buckley’s earlier separation
Buckley’s separation from his former wife, Tania, is a separate event. 7NEWS noted that they share two sons; that background should not be confused with Buckley and Ryan’s relationship or their 2025 announcement. 7NEWS’s report did not include a public comment from Buckley about this separation as of its publication on 7 May 2025.
