Season 3 of Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing premiered on Discovery Channel on May 18, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. The network describes 14 experienced survivalists competing in the Australian Outback for a $100,000 prize. Its announcement lists 13 names, not 14, and the season is promoted as Australia’s deadliest challenge. That claim is the network’s framing, not an independent finding. This article covers the premiere, the cast as published, the challenges shown in the episode guide, and what the available sources do not establish.
Premiere date, format and prize
Warner Bros. Discovery announced the season in a release dated April 18, 2025. It gives the premiere as May 18, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel. The release describes head-to-head, multiphase challenges in which competitors face both the environment and each other.
The winning criteria are stated in the release as follows: “The competitor who demonstrates the best bushcraft, ingenuity and stamina to outlast their opponents in head-to-head, multiphase challenges will earn the crown, a coveted perfect 10.0 Primitive Survival Rating and a $100,000 cash prize.” The release is a corporate statement with no individual speaker named.
The announcement names the Australian Outback as the setting. It does not name a specific site or region within the Outback.

The cast as published
The announcement says 14 survivalists will compete, but the cast list it publishes contains 13 names. We have not added a fourteenth name from another season or other coverage. Until the network publishes a complete roster, the 14th competitor is unidentified in the material we could check.
- Matt Wright
- Max Djenohan
- Ky Furneaux
- Laura Zerra
- Suzänne Zeta
- Trish Bulinsky
- Kaila Cumings
- Darrin Reay
- Patrick French
- Trent Nielsen
- Cheeny Plante
- Jamie Frizzell
- Kaiela Hobart
The announcement also gives each competitor’s prior challenge count and days survived. These are promotional background supplied by the network. We have not independently checked them, so we do not repeat them here.
The challenges shown in the episode guide
Discovery Channel’s episode guide describes the challenges in general terms. These descriptions tell you what competitors are asked to build or do. They are not product tests or survival instruction.
“Savage Strategies”: primitive axes
The guide’s description of this episode reads: “Matt’s tactics spark tension. Competitors must craft primitive axes.” The guide gives no individual speaker. The episode’s tension is framed around that axe-making task.

Is it Australia’s deadliest challenge?
“Deadliest challenge yet” is promotional framing in the title and marketing. Neither the network’s announcement nor the episode guide offers an independent comparison with other seasons or other survival shows. Nor do they publish a fatality rate, injury rate or wildlife-risk statistic for the production.
The network’s promotional language refers to the hazards of the Outback, including wildlife. Treat those descriptions as the show’s own framing. They are not a medical or safety study, and they should not be read as data on how dangerous the production was.
How Season 3 differs from the 2024 season
The network’s announcement for its 2024 season describes a different setting and rules. The table compares only the details each announcement states. Where a detail is missing, the cell says so.
