Who made the film?
Megan Park wrote and directed My Old Ass. She told The Credits that she cast Stella first and built the ensemble around her; Stella chemistry-read with the other actors, while Park expected her pairing with Plaza to work. The film’s producers include Tom Ackerley, Margot Robbie, Josey McNamara, and Steven Rales.
Park also described changing the ending during editing. The original voiceover ending no longer felt right, so the finished film closes with images of Elliott driving the boat around the lake—a goodbye to the setting, as Park explained in a Directors Guild of America Q&A.
