Spoilers ahead for season 2, including its finale. Season 2 of My Life with the Walter Boys premiered on Netflix on August 28, 2025. Nikki Rodriguez returns as Jackie Howard, whose unresolved feelings for Alex and Cole sit at the center of a season that also follows the Walter family, Jackie’s friends, and several new arrivals in Silver Falls.
Jackie and the Walter family
After losing her family, 16-year-old New Yorker Jackie Howard moves to Silver Falls, Colorado, to live with her guardian Katherine Walter, Katherine’s husband George, and their children. The season 1 finale leaves her caught between brothers Alex and Cole. At the start of season 2, Jackie is back in Silver Falls trying to work out where she belongs. As Nikki Rodriguez put it, “She’s trying to figure out where she belongs and trying not to lose either side of herself and make sure that they can coexist.”
| Actor | Character | Role and season 2 story |
|---|---|---|
| Nikki Rodriguez | Jackie Howard | The Walter family’s 16-year-old guest and Katherine’s ward. Her feelings for Alex and Cole remain complicated. |
| Sarah Rafferty | Katherine Walter | Jackie’s guardian, a veterinarian, and mother of the Walter children. The season explores her bond with Jackie and her grief for Jackie’s mother. |
| Marc Blucas | George Walter | Katherine’s husband and a rancher. He and eldest son Will work on plans to keep the ranch afloat and develop the family’s land. |
| Noah LaLonde | Cole Walter | A 17-year-old whose football prospects were derailed by injury. He helps coach and studies for the SATs while considering college. |
| Ashby Gentry | Alex Walter | A 16-year-old who takes up bronc riding with Blake Hartford. A flirtation with Blake makes him recognize that he still has feelings for Jackie. Gentry described the shift simply: “Season 1 Alex is no more.” |
| Johnny Link | Will Walter | The eldest Walter sibling, 26, recently married to Hayley and working with George on the ranch. Will is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids, as does Link. |
| Connor Stanhope | Danny Walter | Cole’s fraternal twin and a film-loving thespian. He starts dating Erin, Cole’s ex. |
| Corey Fogelmanis | Nathan Walter | A 15-year-old musician. He dates Skylar before becoming involved with Zach, complicating both relationships. |
| Dean Petriw | Jordan Walter | A 13-year-old aspiring wildlife filmmaker who carries a camera and keeps a pet snake named Rumplesnakeskin. |
| Lennix James | Benny Walter | The youngest Walter boy, age six. |
| Alix West Lefler | Parker Walter | The only Walter daughter, age ten. She is initially wary of another girl joining the family but warms to Jackie. |
| Isaac Arellanes | Isaac | A Walter cousin living with the family. Cole gives him football pointers. |
| Myles Vincent Perez | Lee | Isaac’s brother, a dedicated skater who misses his deployed father. |
| Zoë Soul | Hayley | Will’s wife and part of the Walter family. Her graduate thesis takes her to Chile during the season. |
Jackie’s friends, school connections, and new arrivals
Silver Falls High brings Jackie into contact with friends, teachers, and rivals whose storylines extend beyond the love triangle. Season 2 also adds characters connected to the ranch, rodeo, and the Walters’ wider community.
| Actor | Character | Role and season 2 story |
|---|---|---|
| Alisha Newton | Erin | Ambitious and competitive, she helps Jackie with a fundraiser for the fall dance and begins a relationship with Danny. |
| Jaylan Evans | Skylar | Grace’s best friend and editor of the school paper. Skylar dates Nathan before Zach complicates their relationship. |
| Ashley Tavares | Tara | A school guidance counselor who encourages Jackie and Cole to consider their futures; she is also Hayley’s close friend. |
| Moheb Jindran | Nikhil | Silver Falls High’s English and drama teacher. Tara was interested in him in season 1. |
| Ellie O’Brien | Grace | Jackie’s loyal friend, who begins finding her own way beyond her mother’s strict expectations. |
| Mya Lowe | Kiley | Alex’s longtime best friend. She puts herself first this season and has an unexpected romance with Dylan. |
| Kolton Stewart | Dylan | A football player whose friendship with Cole is tested when Cole becomes assistant coach. He connects with Kiley in woodshop. |
| Gabrielle Jacinto | Olivia | Erin’s well-meaning, sometimes misguided, longtime best friend. |
| Nathaniel Arcand | Mato | Skylar’s father, an old friend of George’s, head of the school alumni committee, and owner of The Lark Café. |
| Alex Quijano | Richard | Jackie’s maternal uncle. He looks out for her and becomes involved in Silver Falls affairs, creating tension with the Walters. |
| Natalie Sharp | Blake Hartford | A champion rodeo rider who helps Alex learn bronc riding and is confident in a male-dominated sport. |
| Carson MacCormac | Zach | A senior who becomes involved with Nathan and Skylar, though he is not wholly what he seems. |
| Janet Kidder | Joanne Wagner | Grace’s mother and Katherine’s friend. She objects to development plans involving George and Will. |
| Riele Downs | Maria | She meets Alex in driver’s education and flirts with him, to Kiley’s dismay. |
| Jake Manley | Wylder Holt | A rising bronc-riding competitor under 25 who crosses paths with Alex. |
Season 2 relationship spoilers
By the finale, Jackie tells both Alex and Cole that she loves them, and Alex overhears. The season also complicates Nathan and Skylar’s relationship as Zach becomes involved. These developments continue the season 1 setup, which Netflix’s season 2 trailer article describes as Jackie returning to Silver Falls after leaving for New York: Alex had declared his love, and Jackie had kissed Cole.

Is season 2 based on the second book?
No. Netflix describes season 1 as based on Ali Novak’s Wattpad novel, but says season 2 “took its own course” as an original story. Novak released a sequel novel in April 2025, but the TV season is not presented as an adaptation of that book. The distinction matters if you want to follow the series’ plot: the sequel novel is not a guide to what happens in season 2. Netflix’s official cast guide gives the season’s character descriptions and source-material distinction.
