Episode details
“A Chain of Events, Across the Ages” is season 7, episode 13, and the series’ 151st episode. Its original Japanese title is 連なる星霜. The episode first aired in Japan on August 17, 2024, according to the official episode page; Crunchyroll lists the same date and uses the English title. Some international catalogs show a later date, so August 17 refers to the original Japanese broadcast.
Crunchyroll’s short synopsis puts the turning point plainly: “Deku finally arrives at the Coffin in the Sky!” The Crunchyroll episode listing gives that line and describes the defeated heroes and Deku’s reaction.
What happens in the episode
Deku reaches the Coffin in the Sky
After a difficult journey to U.A.’s floating battlefield, Deku arrives to find Bakugo and the other heroes badly beaten. The sight hits him hard: his anger is immediate and visible, a response to what Shigaraki has done and to the danger facing his friends.

A secondary episode guide supplies more of the travel sequence: Star and Stripe’s squadron helps Deku reach the battlefield, and he uses Blackwhip to propel himself between fighter jets. That guide also describes his opening attack as a 120% Detroit Smash. These are details from a secondary recap, rather than the official synopsis.
Shigaraki tries to turn Deku’s anger against him
Shigaraki, acting through the All For One conflict, recognizes that anger could make Deku’s choices more direct and easier to exploit. The scene makes the arrival more than a dramatic entrance: Deku has to decide whether to let the battlefield dictate his state of mind.

Mirio calls out that the heroes have not given up. Deku recalls the fifth One For All successor’s advice about mastering his heart, steadies himself, and faces Shigaraki. The official Japanese synopsis frames this emotional shift as the moment Deku activates the second successor’s Quirk.
The confrontation reaches across generations
Deku’s fight is connected to the older conflict inside One For All. The secondary episode guide describes a vestige confrontation between Yoichi and his older brother, and a battle in which Deku uses Gearshift, Danger Sense, Smokescreen, Float, and Blackwhip to pressure Shigaraki and manage Gearshift’s cooldown. The vestige connection gives the episode’s title a clear thematic fit: the present clash is bound to a struggle passed down through generations. That is an interpretation of the episode’s events, not an official explanation of the title.

Which manga chapters does it adapt?
The secondary episode guide lists chapters 367, 368, and 369 as the manga chapters adapted. Readers interested in comparing the anime’s pacing and action with the source can use that chapter range as a starting point. The available sources do not establish a verified publisher volume mapping, so this recap does not assign the chapters to a specific volume.

Expect intense battle imagery. Crunchyroll lists the episode as 14+ and flags violence, profanity, sexualized imagery, and smoking. The UK’s BBFC classification record describes strong violence and bloody images, including injury detail; that is a UK classification, not a universal rating. Apple TV lists a 22-minute runtime, which is platform metadata and may differ from rounded listings elsewhere.
Rank #4
For episode numbering and regional catalog metadata, Apple TV’s season 7, episode 13 listing provides another reference. The BBFC record is useful for its UK-specific content classification.
