The Endlesss Beat Machine turns music-making software into a full-size arcade-style instrument. Its touchscreen, arcade controls and three distinct modes are designed for remix challenges, public jams and studio production—not conventional arcade gameplay.
What the Beat Machine does
Endlesss built the Beat Machine around its collaborative music-creation tool. The arcade presentation is part of the instrument: players use physical controls and a large touchscreen to make and perform music. The maker describes it for settings including studios, venues and events. Endlesss’s product page outlines three modes, each aimed at a different kind of use.
The concept grew from a suggestion in the Endlesss Discord community. According to the maker, community member NJ Lang asked what it would be like if Endlesss were an arcade machine, then built a prototype. The idea reflects a broader social ambition: founder Tim Exile told MusicRadar that the mission was “to transform music from a product we consume alone to an activity we gather to do – online, in real life, in real time.” That is the founder’s goal for the product, not evidence of a measured outcome. MusicRadar reported on the launch in February 2023.
How the three modes differ
| Mode | Designed for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Arcade | Events and guided music-making | Remix challenges and beatmaking missions with custom graphics. Endlesss says missions can be developed with artists. |
| Open Mic | Public performance and group sessions | Intended for beat battles, open mic nights and jam sessions. The maker says participants scan a QR code to log in. |
| Studio | Individual production | Supports external instruments, VSTs and MIDI controllers. Endlesss says creations sync and can be imported elsewhere. |
In practical terms, Arcade gives an event host a structured challenge, Open Mic is organized around people playing together in public, and Studio opens the machine to a producer’s own workflow. The maker documents these capabilities but does not name specific plug-ins or controllers, so compatibility should be confirmed for the equipment a studio plans to use. The mode descriptions come from Endlesss.

Hardware and connections
Endlesss lists a 24-inch main touchscreen and a 5-inch contextual touchscreen, alongside 28 RGB buttons, a joystick and an XY controller. The cabinet also has integrated speakers and a digital marquee. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results. Endlesss’s specification list also names:
- Two TRS audio outputs and a Neutrik XLR/jack instrument input
- Two USB 3 ports
- Low-latency audio input/output
- A durable casing with custom graphics
- Lifetime over-the-air updates
MusicRadar’s February 2023 launch coverage described the machine’s USB connections as USB-C, while the maker’s product page specifies USB 3 ports. Those labels are not interchangeable evidence of the exact connector on every hardware revision; check the unit’s specification before planning a connection. MusicRadar’s launch report and the maker’s current specification page use different wording.

A deliberately limited, premium launch
Launch-era coverage in February 2023 described a Launch Edition limited to 25 units, priced at US$9,999 each. Those figures explain the Beat Machine’s original positioning as a scarce, premium installation for venues, studios or events; they do not establish today’s availability or price. Endlesss’s page includes an availability link, but the presence of that link alone does not confirm that a unit can currently be bought. New Atlas reported the launch price and edition size; MusicRadar also covered the 2023 launch.
New Atlas reported that Endlesss had tested prototypes at events in London, New York and Lisbon, and that musician Imogen Heap and former basketball player Baron Davis were among early recipients. Heap described the machine as “like a portal to my flow state.” These are launch-era reports and a personal reaction, not an independent evaluation of how the machine performs for other users. New Atlas’s February 24, 2023 article provides that context.

Who the Beat Machine may suit
The clearest fit is an organization or producer looking for an unusual, hands-on way to put music creation in front of people. Arcade missions could give an event a guided activity; Open Mic is framed for group performance; and Studio is the mode aimed at producers who want to connect instruments or MIDI controllers. Endlesss also invites prospective partners to book sessions and collaborate on event experiences, though that invitation does not establish current booking availability or commercial terms. The maker describes those uses on its product page.
For a buyer considering Studio, the documented accessory category is a USB MIDI controller—not any particular model. The machine’s maker says Studio supports MIDI controllers and lists USB ports, but no specific controller has been verified here. Confirm the exact unit’s ports and the controller’s compatibility before purchasing equipment.
