What award did Dinabandhoo win?
Dinabandhoo received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Assamese. Accounts differ on the award year: The Indian Express identifies the film as a 2004 release and says it brought Barua the award, while The New Indian Express gives 2005 as the award year. The release year and award year should therefore be treated as separate dates, not collapsed into a single one.
A later film about Barua
In 2025, the Press Information Bureau reported that director Sasanka Samir introduced Bhaimon Da, described as a commercial biopic about Munin Barua. That announcement establishes the project’s introduction; it does not establish a release date, distribution, or current availability.
