Mumford & Sons and Pharrell Williams released “Good People” on January 16, 2024, the same day the song made its live debut at Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Autumn/Winter 2024 runway show in Paris. The collaboration followed years of conversations about working together, but the band says the recording itself came together quickly.
How “Good People” came together
Mumford & Sons said it had talked with Pharrell about recording together for years. In the band’s official announcement, the group recalled: “For years now, every time we’d see Pharrell we’d talk about getting in the studio together, and when we finally made it happen, this song came together fast.” The band described the session as “fast and loose and really, really fun.” Mumford & Sons’ announcement says Pharrell then asked whether the track could be part of his Louis Vuitton show. The band decided to get the song to listeners immediately.
