Mukkam Post Bombilwaadi is a Marathi comedy-drama built around a wonderfully improbable idea: Hitler crash-lands in a Konkan village during the Second World War. The premise and an experienced cast give Paresh Mokashi’s film a distinctive comic setup, but critics differ on how often its slapstick and stage-like style land on screen.
What is Mukkam Post Bombilwaadi about?
Set in 1942, the film imagines Adolf Hitler arriving in Bombilwadi, a village in the Konkan region. The Times of India’s account places the action across Hitler’s office in Germany, Churchill’s war room in London and the village. After hearing of an innovation that could help him win the war, Hitler sets off for Japan but crash-lands in Bombilwadi instead.

In the village, a local theatre group’s play rehearsal runs alongside other comic threads, including a British police officer absorbed in Shakespeare and the activities of freedom fighters. The appeal is the collision of wartime history with village life and theatrical chaos, rather than a historically grounded account of the war.
Who is in the cast?
Prashant Damle plays Hitler, Anand Ingale plays Churchill, and Vaibhav Mangle plays Sitaram Varvante. The Times of India review also highlights Geetanjali Kulkarni and younger performers Ritika Shrotri, Manmeet Pem and Pranav Raorane. Mihir Bhanage praises the cast’s committed portrayals, singling out Damle and Mangle.

Does the comedy work?
The central critical question is whether the broad, theatrical premise gains enough from being made into a film. Bhanage’s Times of India review finds the story absurd and interesting, and notes that the film expands the play’s premise onto a cinematic scale. But he argues that the result can still feel like a play unfolding on screen. In his view, the film tries to do too much in too little time and does not hold attention consistently; he rates it 3/5.
In a review excerpt published by Rotten Tomatoes and attributed to Scroll.in critic Nandini Ramnath, the film is described as “Extremely silly and occasionally funny.” Ramnath says its slapstick provides easy, forgettable laughs. That is a useful description of the film’s comic register, not a guarantee that every viewer will respond the same way: its broadness may be part of the fun for some and a limitation for others.

What do critic and audience ratings say?
The available ratings point in different directions and measure different things. The Times of India’s 3/5 is a critic’s assessment; BookMyShow displayed 6.3/10 from about 2,000 votes when checked on 8 October 2026. The BookMyShow figure is a changing, platform-specific user-rating snapshot, not a representative survey, so the two scores should not be combined.
Is Mukkam Post Bombilwaadi worth watching?
It is a reasonable pick if you enjoy absurd premises, ensemble performances and unapologetically broad slapstick. The unusual Hitler-in-a-Konkan-village setup and committed cast are its strongest draws. If you need jokes to land steadily or prefer film comedy that feels distinctly cinematic rather than stage-derived, the reservations in the reviews are worth weighing. The film’s appeal depends less on historical realism than on your appetite for farce.
