It cannot be claimed now. MUBI’s current UK membership route advertises a seven-day free trial alongside monthly and annual plans, so use the official membership page rather than any old page promising the £1 offer.
What the original MUBI £1 deal included
Tech Advisor reported the promotion on 4 February 2025. New subscribers could obtain three months of MUBI access for £1, with the offer due to end on 9 February. The report described MUBI’s normal price at that time as £11.99 per month, making the historical three-month comparison roughly £35.97 before the promotional price. That was the price reported in February 2025, not a current UK rate.
The subscription provided access to MUBI’s rotating selection of independent, international, classic and arthouse cinema, including MUBI originals and award-winning films. The contemporary coverage cited The Substance, Past Lives, Aftersun, Priscilla, La Chimera and Queer as examples available at the time. Those titles should not be treated as a promise of current availability: MUBI says its catalogue changes and varies by location.

Why you cannot claim it now
The stated deadline passed on 9 February 2025. An old article, search result or promotional button may still describe “three months for £1”, but that wording refers to a closed promotion. A new signup now should lead to MUBI’s normal membership flow, any promotion currently shown to you, or the standard seven-day trial—not the historical £1 plan.
What MUBI offers currently
MUBI’s official UK membership page currently presents monthly and annual memberships, a seven-day free trial, ad-free viewing and offline downloads on iOS and Android. It also says members can cancel at any time. See MUBI’s membership page for the live offer.
A fetched version of that UK-locale page displayed $14.99 monthly and $119.88 annually, with the annual option labelled as a 33% saving. Because a UK URL rendered dollar-denominated prices, those figures should not be treated as definitive UK pricing. Check the currency and final amount at the live UK checkout. MUBI’s help centre likewise directs customers to the membership page for current prices: How much does a membership cost?

How to avoid an unwanted renewal
The £1 promotion was three months of access for £1, not necessarily a one-off purchase with no further billing. MUBI’s terms say subscriptions renew automatically at the applicable frequency until cancelled. They also require cancellation at least one calendar day before renewal to avoid the next charge. Your account’s displayed renewal date controls the practical deadline, so do not guess it from the original article.
- After joining, open your MUBI account and record the next billing date in subscription settings.
- Check whether you subscribed directly through MUBI or through Apple, Google, Amazon Fire TV, Roku or another platform.
- Cancel at least one calendar day before the displayed renewal date.
- Save the confirmation screen or email.
- Recheck the account status and the next invoice or payment statement.
Cancel a subscription bought on MUBI’s website
- Sign in to MUBI.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Subscription or the subscription settings page.
- Select the cancellation option and complete the confirmation prompts.
MUBI’s web-cancellation help page says access already paid for remains available through the end of that paid period: cancel a web-purchased subscription.

If Apple, Google, Amazon Fire TV, Roku or another provider processed the payment, use that provider’s subscription controls. The cancellation option may not appear inside your MUBI account. MUBI’s terms of service describe these platform-specific arrangements.

Is MUBI worth paying for without the £1 promotion?
| Best fit | Potentially poor fit |
|---|---|
| Viewers who prefer curated independent, international, classic or arthouse films | Viewers mainly seeking blockbuster franchises or current mainstream television |
| People who enjoy film discovery rather than searching for a huge permanent catalogue | Anyone subscribing only for one specific title without checking its current UK availability |
| Members who value ad-free streaming and supported mobile downloads | Households wanting a broad, family-focused library |
| UK subscribers interested in a premium plan that may include MUBI GO | Viewers who would not use the cinema benefit or whose local participating venues are limited |
MUBI’s value comes from curation and discovery rather than maximum volume. Its terms confirm that availability differs by geography and changes over time, so check the live UK catalogue for the films you actually want to watch.

Bottom line on the £1 offer
The three-month MUBI-for-£1 deal was real and excellent historical value, but its 9 February 2025 deadline has passed. In 2026, start from MUBI’s official membership page, compare the live UK checkout price with the seven-day trial or a gift membership, and set a reminder to cancel before renewal if you do not intend to continue.
