The Academy also identifies The Shape of Water as one of the films with 13 nominations. A fully verified current top 25 cannot be established from the available Academy list, so presenting 25 ranked titles would risk inventing a cutoff or omitting later films.
Which film has the most Oscar nominations?
There is no single-film leader: three movies share the record at 14 nominations. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences named All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land as the record holders in its 90th Awards coverage. Academy 90th Awards coverage.
Nominations and wins are separate measures. A nomination total counts competitive categories in which a film was nominated; it does not say how many awards it won. The Academy lists the two totals separately in its records. Academy 90th Awards coverage.
Academy-confirmed films with 14 or 13 nominations
The Academy’s historical list, updated through the 88th Awards, records two films at 14 and nine at 13. Its later 90th Awards coverage adds La La Land to the 14-nomination group and identifies The Shape of Water as the tenth film with 13 nominations.

The Academy’s downloadable list covers nominations through the 88th Awards, not the latest ceremony. The Academy Awards Database is the current authoritative record and is complete through the 2025 (98th) Awards, presented March 15, 2026, but a full set of individual film records was not available to establish every current entry and count in a top-25 ranking. A list of 25 slots also needs a clear tie rule: if several films share the final qualifying count, including every tie can make the list longer than 25. Without checking the complete current database, neither the cutoff nor that tied group can be reported responsibly. The historical PDF also shows that 12-nomination films exist, but its available excerpt does not provide the complete group.

How to compare Oscar nomination records
- Compare nominations with nominations. Count each film’s competitive nominations; do not substitute wins or treat nominations as a measure of quality.
- Keep the record date in view. The Academy database is the current record source; the historical PDF has an earlier cutoff.
- Account for ties. A ranking that includes all films tied at its cutoff may have more than 25 titles.
