What this ranking tells you—and what it doesn’t
Rukia leads this particular published poll, with Ichigo second and Urahara third. The list is useful as a record of the order VIZ reported, but the page gives no vote total, electorate size, voting rules, geographic scope, or margins between places. It therefore cannot show how representative the participants were or whether neighboring positions were separated by many votes or very few.

VIZ introduced the results with the invitation, “Find out how your favorite characters fared!” That frames the list as a fan-poll result. It should not be read as an objective ranking of writing, power, screen time, or importance to the story.
Why a newer Bleach poll does not replace this character list
Shueisha’s 2026 BLEACH ART SELECTION vote ranked illustrations, not characters. Its official page reports 95,832 votes for a selection of 96 illustrations and identifies the top 25 as artwork. That figure belongs to the 2026 art poll; VIZ’s 2022 character-results page does not state a vote count.
Rank #2
The art vote is connected to BLEACH Artbook JET 2026 I and II, announced for October 2, 2026. The books and associated goods concern the selected illustrations, not evidence for the character ranking above. Shueisha’s official art-poll page describes the illustration vote and related release information.
