Its defining feature is a sculpted skull-and-serpent case; its published specifications include a 54 x 43 mm case, Swiss ETA 2824 automatic movement and 10 ATM water resistance. This is a specification-based overview, not a physical hands-on review.
What is the Montegrappa Chaos watch?
Montegrappa presented the Chaos Automatic as a watch extension of its Chaos pen line and part of a wider collection. The watch was previewed at Westime’s West Hollywood boutique, according to Europa Star’s July 2013 launch report. That report describes the project as a collaboration with Stallone. It does not detail his exact role in engineering or manufacture, so the careful description is that the watch was developed in collaboration with him—not that he personally made or engineered it.

How is the Chaos designed?
Montegrappa’s catalogue describes a handmade watch from northern Italy with a forged sterling-silver or solid 18k-gold case and a black PVD-coated steel back. Skull-and-serpent sculpture wraps around the case, while a small engraved skull decorates the winding crown. The dial is black, bi-level and brushed guilloché, with applied Roman numerals, luminous hands, and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. A sapphire crystal covers the dial. The leather strap has contrasting edges and a buckle bearing a skull motif. These details are the catalogue’s descriptions, not independent quality or performance findings. [c001]

Which editions were made, and what did they cost at launch?
Europa Star’s 2013 launch coverage reports four treatments: sterling silver and 18k gold, each offered without or with full-color enamel. The counts and prices below are historical launch figures from that report, not current asking prices or resale valuations. [c002]
| Case material and treatment | Reported edition count | Reported 2013 launch price |
|---|---|---|
| Sterling silver, without enamel | 333 pieces | $6,200 |
| Sterling silver, with full-color enamel | 333 pieces | $6,400 |
| 18k gold, without enamel | 33 pieces | $85,750 |
| 18k gold, with full-color enamel | 33 pieces | $85,950 |
Those figures amount to 666 reported silver watches and 66 reported gold watches across the two treatments in each material family. [c002]

Can you still buy a Montegrappa Chaos?
Availability is not established across the collection. A Touch of Modern page for a sterling-silver enamel Chaos Automatic was marked sale ended and sold out when observed; that status applies only to that listing and does not show that every edition is unavailable. [c003] Neither current market value nor a verified Amazon listing is established by the available information.

For any live listing, check that the seller identifies the precise material and enamel treatment, and ask for evidence supporting the edition and the watch’s condition. Also assess provenance, completeness and seller authentication; the 2013 prices are not a substitute for a current valuation.
