What is season 2 about?
Apple’s official synopsis says the story follows the events surrounding Monarch, bringing characters to Kong’s Skull Island and a mysterious village as a new Titan emerges from the sea. The season’s central mystery is Titan X, the newly introduced creature. Apple TV Press described it in its February 3, 2026 announcement as: “Titan X isn’t just another monster; it’s a living cataclysm.” That is promotional copy from Apple TV Press, not a quote attributed to a named cast or crew member.
Returning Titans and cast
Godzilla and Kong return alongside Titan X. Apple’s season announcement names Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm among the main cast. Guest stars named by Apple include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper, and Camilo Jiménez Varón.

When does the story take place?
Apple places the modern-day storyline in 2017, following season one’s modern-day setting in 2015. Both seasons also include flashbacks to the 1950s. This distinction matters: the show moves between time periods rather than unfolding in one continuous present-day timeline.
Where can you watch season 2?
The series is available on Apple TV. Apple’s device information lists Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming players, game consoles, cable and satellite boxes, and web browsers as supported categories. It names Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge for browser viewing. Availability and device support can vary by country, so check Apple’s local service information for your region.

Apple’s US season listing gives the series a TV-14 rating, with advisories for language, violence, and sexual content. Ratings differ across territories, so this rating applies to the US listing rather than every market.
How does the series fit into the Monsterverse?
Apple’s February 2026 announcement situates the show within a film franchise that includes Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Apple also said Godzilla x Kong: Supernova was set to release in 2027. This is Apple’s abbreviated franchise context, not a complete viewing-order guide. Apple TV reported in 2026 that the Monsterverse had grossed more than $2.5 billion worldwide; that figure is Apple’s statement, not a separately audited financial report.

Is there another Monarch series planned?
Apple has announced an untitled prequel focused on a young Lee Shaw, starring Wyatt Russell, with Joby Harold as showrunner. Apple’s information page lists the release date as not yet determined, so no premiere date has been established there.
