Mona Alam denied that she was the woman shown in an explicit video circulated under her name in December 2024. Reports said she responded publicly on December 18 and was pursuing legal action. The video and the identity claim were not independently authenticated in the available reporting.
Pakistani television anchor Mona Alam denied that she was the woman shown in an explicit video circulated under her name in December 2024. Reports published on December 19 and 20 said Alam had responded publicly on December 18, described the identification as false, and said she was pursuing legal action. The available reporting did not independently authenticate the video or establish the identity of the woman shown.
This is therefore an allegation and a denial—not a verified “leak” involving Alam. Repeating or searching for the intimate material would risk amplifying an unproven claim and causing further harm to the person depicted.
What Mona Alam said
According to contemporaneous reports, Alam posted a screenshot of the circulating material on X on December 18, 2024. She said the woman in it was being falsely identified as her and wrote that her character was “spotless.” She also warned that people spreading the allegation would face consequences.

Those statements should be attributed to Alam. They establish that she publicly rejected the identification; they do not, by themselves, provide an independent forensic examination of the video or prove who appears in it. Contemporaneous coverage by the Free Press Journal likewise framed the material as alleged and centered Alam’s denial.
What is known about the reported complaint
Reports said Alam shared an image of a complaint and referred to contacting the relevant authorities over the circulation of posts that allegedly misidentified the woman as her. One account said the complaint was addressed to the Additional Director of the Federal Investigation Agency’s Cyber Crime office in Islamabad and included links to social-media posts.
That is evidence that Alam publicly claimed to have filed or pursued a complaint. It is not independent confirmation that the agency formally accepted the case, identified anyone responsible, made an arrest, brought charges, or obtained a conviction. No official case record, police statement, court filing, arrest report, or prosecution result confirming a later outcome was located in the available research.

The video has not been independently authenticated
The reports reviewed for this account did not authenticate the clip. No reliable source located in the research independently established the identity of the woman shown, and no forensic evidence was published that could verify the attribution to Alam.
That distinction matters. A video can be real while its identity claim is false; it can be manipulated, deceptively captioned, taken from an unrelated person, or circulated with a public figure’s name to generate attention. A screenshot, social-media caption, or large number of reposts does not establish identity or authenticity.
Readers should be especially cautious of headlines that omit words such as “alleged,” “claimed,” or “denied.” Describing the incident as “Mona Alam’s leaked video” treats the disputed identification as fact. The more accurate description is an alleged explicit video circulated under Alam’s name, which she denied featured her.

Why the wider context matters
Some coverage placed the incident within a broader wave of purported explicit videos falsely attributed to Pakistani public figures. The available articles repeat that pattern, but they do not provide enough independent forensic or official evidence to establish that every case in the wider group was fabricated. It is safer to say that reports described a broader pattern of alleged false attribution.
False identification of someone in intimate material can produce serious reputational and personal consequences even when the allegation is later disproved. Reposting the material, attaching a real person’s name to it, or directing audiences toward search terms and private channels can expand the harm. It can also interfere with efforts to preserve evidence and report abusive posts.

What has not been established
- No source reviewed independently authenticated the alleged video.
- No reliable source reviewed independently confirmed the identity of the woman shown.
- No authoritative later update was found confirming an investigation, arrest, prosecution, or court disposition.
- Claims about the woman shown being a “proven criminal” should not be repeated as established fact. That characterization appeared in Alam’s reported statement and in secondary coverage, but the underlying criminal record was not independently verified.
What to do if you encounter the posts
- Do not download, save, or forward the material. Avoid embedding it or publishing screenshots that expose the person depicted.
- Preserve limited evidence safely. If a report is necessary, record the account name, post URL, date, and the allegation without redistributing the intimate file.
- Use the platform’s reporting tools. Report the post for harassment, privacy violations, non-consensual intimate imagery, impersonation, or manipulated content where those categories apply.
- Do not treat virality as verification. Look for a statement from the person concerned or an authoritative agency, and distinguish those statements from independent authentication.
- Seek local legal or victim-support advice if you are the person depicted or are directly affected. Laws and reporting procedures vary by country.
Bottom line
Mona Alam publicly denied that she was the woman in the explicit video circulated under her name and reportedly shared a complaint connected to the posts. That denial and the reported complaint are the strongest directly attributable facts currently available. The material itself has not been independently authenticated in the reviewed reporting, and no later official legal outcome was verified. The responsible account is therefore to report the dispute without linking to, embedding, or helping locate the alleged video.
